About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on contractor to build and pilot an automated HR workflow that spans intake, approvals, document generation, multi-party signatures, and secure system-of-record updates. The solution will integrate Google Workspace tools with enterprise HR systems, including ADP, and must support role-based permissions, auditability, and compliance. This role requires someone comfortable working across multiple platforms, not just Google Workspace.
Core Responsibilities- Design and implement HR workflows spanning multiple systems
- Build structured intake and approval workflows (Google Forms, Jira, or similar)
- Implement approval routing and conditional logic using workflow engines or scripting
- Generate HR documents from templates and manage document lifecycle
- Integrate multi-signer e-signature workflows (PandaDoc, Docu-Sign, or equivalent)
- Integrate with ADP APIs, including:
- Permission-based access
- Secure document upload
- Event-driven or controlled write-back
- Enforce role-based access control and audit logging
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive HR and payroll-related data
- Deliver a working pilot workflow (e.g., job change) with clear documentation
- Experience building HR or enterprise approval workflows
- Hands-on experience with ADP APIs (document management, permissions, or payroll-adjacent workflows)
- Strong understanding of role-based access control (RBAC) and audit requirements
- Experience integrating e-signature platforms (PandaDoc, Docu-Sign, Adobe Sign)
- Familiarity with Google Workspace automation (Apps Script or equivalent)
- Ability to work across tools such as Jira or similar workflow systems
- Strong API integration experience (REST, OAuth, service accounts)
- Experience with Power Automate, Logic Apps, or other enterprise workflow tools
- Experience in regulated environments (HR, payroll, finance)
- Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or ADP document management modules
- Experience designing pilot-to-production transitions

- Secure ADP document upload and/or metadata sync
- Defined role-based approval and signing logic
- Documented architecture and handoff to internal IT
- HR requests move from intake → approval → multi-signature → system-of-record with minimal manual work
- ADP updates are controlled, auditable, and permission-based
- The solution is extensible beyond the initial pilot
- Internal IT can maintain and extend the workflow
Contract Length: 4–6 weeks (pilot, with extension potential)
Hours: 20–40 hours/week
Location: Remote (US-based) or Onsite Irvine, CA
