Position summary

The Human Resources Manager will lead HR operations for the Los Angeles site, supporting over 200 employees across professional and unionized roles. As a strategic partner to Sales, Engineering, and Finance, this role will oversee all core HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and development planning. The ideal candidate brings expertise in full-cycle recruitment for salaried and leadership roles, a passion for talent development, and the ability to coach managers in building actionable development plans. Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency are essential for maintaining data integrity and delivering insights that drive HR strategy.

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for salaried and leadership roles using structured tools.
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies, including campus recruiting, to attract top talent.
  • Build and promote a compelling employment brand and candidate experience.
  • Oversee onboarding to ensure compliance with HR, safety, and quality standards.
  • Partner with managers to drive career development through the Intellectual Capital (IC) process.
  • Coach leaders in creating time-bound development plans and succession strategies.
  • Identify training needs, secure resources, and manage access to state-funded training programs.
  • Advise managers on performance, staffing, and conflict resolution.
  • Interpret and apply policies fairly and consistently; support disciplinary processes.
  • Monitor retention risks and collaborate with leaders to implement retention strategies.
  • Maintain a cadence of employee communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Administer compensation reviews, benefits programs, and recognition initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate job descriptions, fair merit processes, and consistent use of HR tools.
  • Manage HR systems such as Workday and ensure data accuracy.
  • Stay current on employment laws and educate managers on compliance and policy changes.
  • Maintain clean, reliable HR data and generate insights using advanced Excel tools.
  • Create dashboards and reports to support workforce planning and strategic decisions.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field (Advanced education, training, and/or PHR, SPHR certification highly desired).
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including talent acquisition and development.
  • Experience supporting both professional and unionized workforces.
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required. Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data visualization). Knowledge of Workday and ADP preferred.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and ethical qualities of the highest standard.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Salary range: $115,000 to $120,000.
