The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, performance management, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Serve as a liaison between departments to assess organizational needs across talent management, performance management, compensation, career development, and manager capability.

Essential Job Functions

Benefits Administration

  • Handles benefits related questions for employees including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, FSA, dependent care accounts, HSA, short- and long-term disability plans, life insurance, COBRA, 401K, with support from senior HR team members as needed
  • Supports Open Enrollment process for the Company, with oversight from VP, HR and Sr. Manager, HR
  • Handle technical requirements for HRIS
  • Carrier file feeds
  • EOI (Evidence of Insurability)
  • Works with vendors to ensure a smooth experience for our employees
  • Leads Wellness Program initiatives and manages budget

Compliance and Leave Management

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compliance, compensation, benefits, and leave of absence
  • Reviews and analyzes data for trends, dig into the numbers and collaborate with the business to derive action plans around performance, retention, and employee engagement
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Supports VP, HR and Sr. Manager, HR with leave of absence management as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

HRIS

  • Responsible for optimizing and maintaining the human resources information for the organization (US payroll)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data, with support from other HR team members
  • Provide technical support to HR team and employees
  • Maintains (and develops as necessary) HRIS process and procedures to ensure effective and efficient system usage
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to understand system requirements and develop solutions to meet their needs
  • Provide technical support and training to users, ensuring they can effectively navigate and utilize the HRIS
  • Collaborate with HR and other stakeholders to streamline HR processes
  • Participate in HR projects related to system as well as process improvements
  • Serve as a point of contact for HRIS-related inquiries and provide timely resolution or escalate issues as necessary
  • Conduct regular audits and data checks to identify and resolve data inconsistencies or errors within the HRIS

Talent Acquisition and New Hire Onboarding

  • Support ABH and talent acquisition as necessary (depending on requisition load)
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments; this may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Tracks employee referrals (or identifies and implements a technical solution)

Performance and Employee Relations 

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate senior staff
  • Assist in the review of disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations; may begin to handle with supervision from a senior team member
  • Supports HR processes such as annual performance review, compensation, and policy related implementations

  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot system issues and provide user support
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing HRIS data and configurations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with HRIS trends and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • At least three years of human resource management experience preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Proficient in using Paylocity is a plus
  • Main on-site location is Pico Rivera, CA; able to work at other locations as needed (Mar Vista, Beverly Hills)
 

Anastasia Beverly Hills offers a competitive compensation package with full benefits and a 401(K) plan with matching contributions from the company. The starting base salary range for this position in the selected city $27.00/hour - $36.00/hour. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographical location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role is bonus eligible.
