The Opportunity...

Centerfield is seeking a fast-thinking, high-impact HR Director to serve as the key operational engine of our People team and the right hand to the SVP, People Operations. In this high-visibility, fast-paced role, you will own the day-to-day HR function across our Corporate population—driving manager enablement, steering complex employee relations, safeguarding headcount governance, and aligning Talent Acquisition with business velocity.


As the primary HR partner for Director and Sr. Director-level leaders, you will turn People strategy into crisp, daily execution. You will lead and elevate our HR Partner team, serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex workforce challenges, and partner directly with the SVP to ensure our people strategy matches the speed of our growth.

How You'll Contribute...

Strategic Partner

  • Act as the trusted execution partner to the SVP, People Operations, translating high-level strategy into seamless daily HR operations.

  • Serve as the first line of escalation for complex employee relations, manager friction, and organizational risks before reaching the SVP.

  • Provide rapid-response guidance, real-time pulse checks, and data-backed workforce insights directly to the SVP to inform broader People strategy.

Talent Acquisition & Team Leadership

  • Direct, mentor, and stretch the HR Partner team, building a high-performing, customer-centric HR unit.

  • Maintain oversight of Corporate Talent Acquisition ops to ensure candidate pipelines, recruiter capacity, and offer decisions keep pace with business demand.

  • Step in to unblock hiring bottlenecks and assist on critical senior talent searches.

  • Manager Enablement & High-Speed Coaching

  • Serve as the go-to HR sounding board for Directors and Sr. Directors, building strong manager muscle across the organization.

  • Coach leaders in real time on accountability, communication, sharp policy application, and navigating difficult conversations.

  • Move fast to resolve emerging manager challenges, reinforcing leader ownership while delivering pragmatic, business-minded HR guidance.

Complex Employee Relations & Risk Governance

  • Lead high-stakes employee relations, workplace investigations, and disciplinary actions with speed, empathy, and bulletproof documentation.

  • Partner closely with Legal and senior HR leadership on high-risk matters, balancing business speed with employment law compliance.

  • Detect recurring friction points and ER trends early, partnering with leaders to fix root causes before they scale.

Workforce Architecture & Headcount Rigor

  • Drive day-to-day headcount tracking and governance in lockstep with Finance and business leads to ensure zero friction between hiring plans and budgets.

  • Rapidly evaluate new and replacement headcount requests, ensuring smooth approvals before recruiting kicks off.

  • Guide leaders through team restructures, reporting adjustments, position realignments, and seamless offboarding’s.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner effortlessly across Payroll, Benefits, Leave Administration, HRIS, Analytics, and Legal to execute clean, frictionless workforce changes.

What We're Looking For...
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong exposure to complex employee relations, manager coaching, and day-to-day HR operations.

  • Experience serving as a trusted operational partner to senior HR leadership.

  • Prior leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing HR team members.

  • Background that includes experience in talent acquisition or recruiting oversight.

  • Practical experience managing and tracking headcount alongside Finance and department leads.

  • Solid foundation in employment law, workplace investigations, and corrective action best practices.

  • Stellar communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels.

  • Ability to stay agile, decisive, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience supporting a technology or high-growth company is a strong plus.
