We’re seeking a skilled content writer with experience in higher education and technical subject matter to support graduate-level academic programs. This role will focus on programs in Energy, Aerospace, and Geospatial Intelligence, requiring the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging narratives. You’ll produce interview-driven content that highlights faculty expertise, industry relevance, and student outcomes.

Scope and Duration

  • Commitment: 20 hours/week
  • Initial Contract: 3 months, with potential extension

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview + Storytelling: Conduct interviews with faculty, students, and alumni, and transform insights into compelling, narrative-driven articles.
  • Content Development: Write accurate, engaging content that conveys the value of STEM graduate programs in the context of industry trends.
  • Collaboration: Work with the client’s marketing team to align content goals, tone, and accuracy.
  • Fact-Checking: Ensure all content reflects technical and contextual precision.
  • Content Strategy Support: Contribute to structured content plans (e.g., “3 Questions With” series), with flexibility to adapt to program needs.
  • SEO Awareness: Apply standard SEO practices for readability and discoverability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in higher education writing, journalism, or technical storytelling
  • Demonstrated ability to produce interview-based content with academic or technical sources
  • Strong research and fact-checking skills
  • Experience simplifying complex STEM topics for a broader audience
  • Excellent editorial quality and attention to detail
  • Comfort conducting interviews with academic and industry experts
  • Bonus: Background in higher ed marketing, graduate programs, or technical communications
