To help deliver on this mission, we are hiring a forward-thinking Head of Total Rewards to join our team to lead our global compensation, benefits, and people operations strategy. As a key member of the People Leadership Team, you will ​design, ​build and manage programs that attract, retain, and support top talent across our multinational footprint — while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and governance. 
 
This is a high-impact role for a strategic​, creative,  ​and operational leader with deep expertise in ​global ​compensation​ (base, bonus, equity, exec)​,​ benefits, ​and ​people operations within a public tech company.  It reports directly to the SVP, People. This role can be remote or if based in the Bay area this will be a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities 

Total Rewards Strategy & Execution 

  • Design, implement, and manage competitive global broad base compensation and benefits programs that align with our business strategy and talent philosophy.

  • Lead annual compensation cycles including base pay, bonus, and long-term incentives.

  • Collaborate closely with the SVP, People and external compensation advisors to develop executive pay recommendations and pay-for-performance alignment. 

  • Manage the operational aspects of executive compensation, including benchmarking (via compensation consultant), STI and LTI design, and compliance with public company disclosure requirements. 

  • Support the preparation of materials for the Compensation Committee, including market data, modeling, and governance documentation. 

  • Ensure executive pay programs align with company performance, shareholder expectations, and internal equity principles. 

  • Working with finance, monitor equity plan health, including share pool usage, dilution, and executive ownership guideline adherence.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining executive compensation policies, including change-in-control provisions, and severance arrangements. 

  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance to prepare public company disclosures (e.g., CD&A, Summary Compensation Table, CEO Pay Ratio, Say-on-Pay). 

  • Stay informed on evolving trends in investor expectations and proxy advisor guidelines (e.g., ISS, Glass Lewis). 

  • Evaluate and evolve benefits offerings to meet employee needs across regions while balancing cost and scalability. 

  • Ensure market competitiveness and pay equity through regular benchmarking, audits, and analytics. 

  • Lead​ and ​implement​ large-scale ​communication and ​change management initiatives related to compensation, benefits, ​and ​​rewards modernization. 

  • ​​In-depth knowledge, experience managing compliance with legal, tax, regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits in different markets.​​​ 

 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of total rewards experience. Must have experience working in ​a public​ global tech company​.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CCP, SPHR) is a plus.  ​ 

  • Proven experience in executive compensation strategy and operations, including preparation of materials for Compensation Committee review. 

  • Deep expertise in global compensation structures, equity programs, and reward/benefits, with solid understanding of international trends, developments in these areas. 

  • Strong knowledge of strategic planning, decision-making within global context. 

  • Significant experience in developing innovative approaches to complex problems in global organizations. 

  • Strategic thinking, with ability to collaborate effectively with other senior professionals to develop and implement major programs. 

  • Proven experience working with external compensation consultants and interpreting benchmarking data. 

  • Ability to manage resources efficiently and effectively, fostering team dynamics, performance to maintain high-quality standards. 

  • Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed or matrixed teams. 

  • Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.  

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, strong Excel experience.   

Preferred Experience 

  • Familiarity with SEC proxy reporting, Say-on-Pay, and shareholder communications. 

  • M&A and post-deal HR integration experience is a plus.
