About Electrified Thermal Solutions

Boilers, furnaces, and kilns are the engines of our industrial economy, providing heat to melt steel, form cement, and transform chemicals. But historically reaching this high-temperature heat cost-effectively required burning fossil fuels, making the industrial sector responsible for 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Electrified Thermal Solutions has a simple and massive goal: to electrify industry.

To do this, we are building the Joule Hive™ thermal battery: an energy storage technology that converts and stores cheap, renewable electricity as high-temperature heat. Our vision is to mitigate gigatons of CO2 emissions per year by deploying the Joule Hive™ at every industrial furnace, turbine, boiler, and kiln.

That vision is already commercial: our first full-scale Joule Hive™ system - electrically conductive firebricks turning the grid's cheapest hours into 1,800°C heat - is operating today. We have a manufacturing facility and produce our own E-bricks, have opened sales offices internationally, and count among our investors some of the largest companies in cement, mining, and steel.

The Role

Electrified Thermal is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Marketing to own the company's voice end to end: product marketing that converts Europe's industrial-heat pain into qualified pipeline, corporate marketing that builds executive voices in front of named investors and customers, and management of external agencies to countable monthly deliverables. We seek a candidate with a track record of building a marketing strategy in a technical, industrial category and then personally executing against it. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable setting the message house, calendar, and measurement framework as writing the byline, briefing the reporter, and editing the agency's draft the same afternoon.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating as our first marketing hire in a start-up/high-growth environment and bring a flexible, positive attitude as they do what it takes to make Electrified Thermal the defining voice in industrial electrification.

    • Reports to: Vice President, Business Development
    • Location: Boston-area hybrid preferred (Charlestown HQ)
    • Travel: up to 15%, primarily Europe

What you will do

    • Own the plan. Execute and evolve our marketing plan: message house, channel cadence, 18-month calendar keyed to EU industrial-decarbonization funding deadlines and the category's flagship conference stages.
    • Run product marketing. Vertical content for target industry segments – chemicals, cement and minerals, steel, mining; lead-generation tools - from launch through nurture to sales handoff; case studies, webinars, sales enablement, partner co-marketing kits.
    • Run corporate marketing. Executive thought leadership program for our executive team; podcast and speaking-slot booking; a steady awards program; analyst and press relationships across climate-tech, national/global business and EU trade media.
    • Manage agencies. Hold our public relations agency and specialist vendors to clear monthly deliverables; run an AI-assisted content pipeline (drafting, monitoring, localization, repurposing); and enforce a 48-hour co-publication standard so partner news is amplified while it is still news.
    • Own measurement. Publish the monthly executive dashboard: placements, category share of voice, LinkedIn growth/engagement, lead generation tool MQLs, podcasts, awards, EU coverage.
    • Support capital formation. Partner with the VP of Finance so investor-facing narrative stays current for investor and project-finance conversations.

What you will bring

    Required
    • 8+ years of B2B marketing experience in industrial, energy, or climate technology
    • A track record of placing stories in tier-1 news outlets and trade press
    • Experience running executive thought-leadership programs
    • Experience managing agencies against contracted deliverables, including re-scoping or ending a relationship that was not performing
    • Demand-gen fluency (HubSpot or equivalent, funnel math)
    • Fast, high-quality writing and editing
    • Experience defining marketing metrics and reporting against them, holding themselves accountable to results they publish
    • Comfort working with deeply technical content
    • Hands-on AI content workflow experience
    • Experience marketing into Europe, including European industrial or energy buyers and EU trade media
    • Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; ETS is unable to sponsor employment visas for this role.
    •

      Strongly Preferred
      • Category-creation experience at a hardware/climate scale-up between Series A and C
      • Event program ownership at major industry conferences
      • Video production management

What we offer

    • Competitive compensation package, including equity options
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) with 4% matching
    • 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, with an additional two weeks for birthing parents
    • 20 flexible vacation days annually
    • A minimum of 10 days of paid company holidays
    • Access to commuter benefits
    • Access to a Health Savings Plan with company contributions

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
