Think global, act local, they say. At Surfshark, we dream of living in a world where people fully control their digital lives. That’s why we want to reach people from every corner of the world. Our products now include a VPN, Alternative ID, Antivirus, Alert (a data leak detection system), Search (a private search tool), and Incogni (an automated personal data removal system).

And here comes the act local part. Our International Growth team is at the heart of Surfshark’s growth engine, directly impacting our product’s global success.

As a multicultural and cross-functional team, they define and execute the local growth strategies, collaborating with central marketing & product teams. Sounds intriguing? Then read along!

If you want to:

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a remote team of Country Marketing Managers, ensuring alignment with global business goals and local growth targets;
  • Drive international growth by unlocking new opportunities (via local publishers, strategic partnerships with local brands, influencer collaborations, and trust-building initiatives) across existing marketing channels;
  • Experiment with new, locally relevant strategies outside of current marketing channels to boost user acquisition and business development;
  • Maintain a strong boots-on-the-ground presence in managed markets, focusing on gathering market intelligence, building strategic relationships with key partners, and unlocking previously inaccessible opportunities.

And you can check off:

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling marketing teams across diverse international markets;
  • Strong hands-on experience in B2C marketing, especially in performance marketing for digital or SaaS products;
  • Fluent in English (essential). Proficiency in other relevant languages is a strong advantage;
  • An existing valuable network that can help with partnerships, talent sourcing, or accessing market opportunities;
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Here’s the deal:

  • Growth and learning opportunities: time dedicated to learning, conferences, books and online learning platforms for your professional development;
  • Tools of your choice: choose technical equipment and the tools you need to do your best;
  • Community and celebrations: get ready for long-lasting traditions such as On the Wave of Things, with a touch of various team buildings or company celebrations;
  • Premium Surfshark accounts: for you, your family, and friends.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
