Space is a warfighting domain. True Anomaly seeks those with the talent and ambition to build the technology that secures it.

OUR MISSION

True Anomaly delivers decisive capabilities for space superiority. We build autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors — enabling the U.S. and its Allies to secure the space environment and counter threats from the ultimate high ground.

OUR VALUES

  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.
  • What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.
  • It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.

YOUR MISSION

We are looking for a construction people leader to take ownership of how True Anomaly turns plans into physical reality across our entire portfolio. You'll lead construction across every site — setting the standards, the processes, and the bar for quality, while developing and scaling the team to meet future demand. This is a hands-on leadership role: until the team is staffed to match the project pipeline, you'll roll up your sleeves and carry projects directly. You're equally credible directing a contractor on a job site, coaching an individual contributer, and sitting across from cross-functional leaders to align construction with the broader mission. You measure your success by two things: a high-performing team and a construction function that runs like a well-oiled machine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead a construction team and third-party general contractors that strategically support projects of varying scale across the entire portfolio. Develop and grow the existing team, strategically hiring additional talent to meet both current and future demand against the project pipeline. Define, implement, and govern construction standards and processes that support long-term portfolio needs while ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across all sites. Direct short-term project execution — including project management, pricing/estimating, and scheduling — to deliver projects on time and on budget. Translate brand and operational requirements into the physical environment across all spaces, balancing innovative design with security and compliance. Serve as a strategic leader and cross-functional partner inside and outside Facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in construction
  • People management experience, including developing and growing teams (either directly or indirectly)
  • Proven ability to lead both strategy and hands-on project execution
  • Define construction-team KPIs and have a proven track record of holding team accountable to hitting KPIs
  • Experience managing third-party general contractors across projects of varying scale to internal KPIs
  • Strong command of project management, pricing/estimating, and scheduling
  • Demonstrated ability to define and govern construction standards across multiple sites
  • Track record of delivering projects on time and on budget directly and indirectly
  • Experience balancing security and compliance requirements with design intent
  • Experience scaling a construction function in a high-growth environment
  • Familiarity with the full design and construction lifecycle

Nice to Have

  • Experience delivering secure construction environments
  • Professional licensure or certification (e.g., PE, PMP, DBIA)

OTHER

  • Work Location - This position will be onsite 4 to 5 days per week at our Long Beach, CA facility

COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: $140,000-$260,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education and experience.

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

True Anomaly is committed to equal employment opportunity on any basis protected by applicable state and federal laws. If you have a disability or additional need that requires accommodation, please do not hesitate to let us.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
