About Revel

Revel is building the next generation of software for controlling and interacting with mission-critical hardware across aerospace, energy, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. Our platform replaces outdated, complex systems with an intuitive, high-performance platform that helps engineers move faster and operate with precision.

Revel has raised $180 million from leading investors to modernize the software behind the world’s most ambitious hardware. We’re based in Marina del Rey, with a strong engineering culture and a focus on solving hard problems through thoughtful engineering and design.

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Head of Events to build and own Revel’s events function from the ground up. This is a senior, highly hands-on role with significant ownership over how Revel shows up in the real world—from defining our events strategy and calendar to delivering exceptional experiences on the ground.

In any given week, you might be designing a standout presence at a major aerospace or defense conference, producing an intimate dinner for hardtech leaders, or creating an original event that attracts the engineers and builders shaping the physical world. You’ll understand what resonates with a deeply technical audience and know how to turn that insight into experiences people genuinely want to attend, talk about, and remember.

As Revel’s first dedicated events hire, you’ll own every stage of the work: concept development, programming, budgeting, production, vendor management, promotion, and onsite execution. You’re excited to set the annual strategy, but equally willing to walk a venue, review fabrication details, pack event materials, and solve last-minute problems onsite. You’ll bring strong creative instincts, operational rigor, and a trusted network of fabricators, producers, venues, and other partners who can help bring ambitious ideas to life. You’ll also establish the systems, relationships, and playbook that allow Revel’s events program to scale.

What You'll Do

  • Build Revel’s events strategy and roadmap across trade shows, industry conferences, customer experiences, recruiting events, intimate gatherings, original brand activations, and internal company events.

  • Create memorable experiences for engineers and hardtech leaders—from compelling booth environments and technical demonstrations to dinners and large-scale brand moments.

  • Own events end to end, including concept development, programming, budgets, timelines, venues, contracts, vendors, production, logistics, promotion, and onsite execution.

  • Translate Revel’s brand and technical product into physical experiences that feel distinctive, substantive, and credible to deeply technical audiences.

  • Build and manage a trusted network of fabricators, producers, AV teams, venues, caterers, and other partners capable of executing ambitious ideas at a high level.

  • Own detailed production planning, including booth design, staffing, signage, swag, transportation, technical requirements, and run of show.

  • Develop audience and attendance strategies for each event, including invitations, RSVP management, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up.

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Design, Sales, Recruiting, Product, and company leadership to ensure every event supports clear business goals.

  • Define success metrics and evaluate event performance, using data and feedback to determine where Revel should continue investing.

  • Establish the processes and playbooks needed to scale Revel’s events program

  • Represent Revel at events and travel as needed to support programs across the country.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience producing events or experiential programs, including demonstrated ownership of an events portfolio or function.

  • Proven track record building and driving an events roadmap with minimal oversight

  • Comfortable being the sole events person — doing hands-on execution yourself, with marketing and design as support

  • An established network of trusted vendors and production partners, along with the ability to identify and evaluate new partners when an idea requires something different.

  • Exceptional project-management skills and command of budgets, contracts, logistics, timelines, and multiple simultaneous workstreams.

  • The ability to understand technical products and turn them into experiences that engineers find substantive and engaging.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with limited process and high ambiguity

  • Flexible and willing to support broader thought leadership and ecosystem engagement initiatives beyond core event logistics

  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and the confidence to work directly with executives, customers, engineers, vendors, and external partners.

  • Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when events require it.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building an events function from scratch at an early-stage or rapidly growing company.

  • Experience creating events for technical or engineering-driven audiences, particularly in aerospace, defense, energy, robotics, or advanced manufacturing.

  • Existing relationships with venues, industry organizations, or partners across Revel’s core markets.

Why This Role

  • Build Revel’s events function from the ground up, with the autonomy to define its strategy

  • Use your creativity to shape how Revel shows up across some of the world’s most ambitious and exciting technical industries.

  • Create experiences for the engineers and companies building breakthrough hardware across aerospace, defense, energy, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.

  • Have a visible, measurable impact on Revel’s brand, customer relationships, recruiting, and industry presence.

  • Receive a competitive salary, substantial equity, and significant opportunity for growth at a fast-scaling Series B company.

Benefits

  • Health insurance — We offer comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to support you and your family.

  • 401(k) — Save for your future with our 401(k) plan.

  • Equity — All full-time employees receive equity, ensuring that you share in Revel's success and growth.

  • Life insurance — Company-paid life insurance gives you and your family peace of mind.

  • Parental leave — We offer paid maternity and paternity leave to support new parents.

  • Catered lunch — We provide catered lunch five days a week, so you can stay fueled and focused.

  • Unlimited PTO — We trust you to take the time you need. Unlimited PTO for all full-time employees.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
