Build a Safer World.

TRM Labs provides blockchain analytics and AI solutions to help law enforcement and national security agencies, financial institutions, and cryptocurrency businesses detect, investigate, and disrupt crypto-related fraud and financial crime. TRM’s blockchain intelligence and AI platforms include solutions to trace the source and destination of funds, identify illicit activity, build cases, and construct an operating picture of threats. TRM is trusted by leading agencies and businesses worldwide who rely on TRM to enable a safer, more secure world for all.

TRM Labs is a blockchain intelligence company committed to fighting crime and creating a safer world. By leveraging blockchain data, threat intelligence, and advanced analytics, our products empower governments, financial institutions, and crypto businesses to combat illicit activity and global security threats. At TRM, you'll join a mission-driven, fast-paced team made up of experts in law enforcement, data science, engineering, and financial intelligence, tackling complex global challenges daily. Whether analyzing blockchain data, developing cutting-edge tools, or collaborating with global organizations, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

As the Head of Capital Markets & Corporate Development, you will lead TRM’s capital raising efforts, investor engagement, and strategic transactions during a critical phase of the company’s growth. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will run equity, debt, and secondary processes, build and manage TRM’s investor relationships, and identify and execute M&A opportunities that advance the business. You will represent TRM in high-stakes external conversations and work closely with the executive team and Board on decisions that shape the company’s trajectory.

This role is for someone who operates with ownership and judgment — and is ready to take on a fast-paced, high-impact role with significant leadership responsibility at a category-defining company.

The Impact you will have:

  • Lead end-to-end execution of equity, debt, and secondary transactions, including structuring, positioning, investor outreach, and negotiations
  • Build and maintain deep, long-term relationships with current and prospective investors, and establish a consistent investor engagement cadence outside of active fundraising
  • Define and execute TRM’s M&A strategy, including identifying priority themes and targets and leading acquisitions and other strategic transactions
  • Partner closely with the executive team and Board on decisions related to capital structure, fundraising, and inorganic growth
  • Represent TRM in investor meetings, industry conferences, and other high-stakes external settings

What we're looking for:

  • 10–15+ years of experience across investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, strategic finance, or corporate development
  • Direct experience leading or materially contributing to equity financings, secondary transactions, and M&A at high-growth technology companies, including transactions at meaningful scale
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and execute high-stakes transactions with sound judgment and accountability
  • Experience building and maintaining investor relationships and running an investor relations program for a growth-stage or pre-IPO company
  • Exceptional executive communication skills and presence; comfortable representing the company to sophisticated investors, executives, and Board members
  • Strong analytical foundation, including financial modeling and deal structuring
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; startup or scale-up experience strongly preferred

About the Team

  • Finance at TRM is a high-leverage function that sits at the center of the company’s most important strategic decisions. Capital markets and corporate development are a core part of that mandate.
  • We believe strong analysis and execution are essential — but they’re only the starting point. This team focuses on turning that foundation into real outcomes: building and maintaining the relationships that underpin capital raising and strategic transactions, ensuring access to capital, and using M&A thoughtfully to accelerate TRM’s growth and product roadmap.
  • On this team, you’ll have a seat at the table with TRM’s executive team and investors, visibility into every corner of the business, and the opportunity to influence how TRM scales. If you're excited about applying an investor's mindset inside a category-defining technology company, you’ll find this team to be the right fit.

About TRM speed in this position

At TRM, speed means moving quickly, decisively, and effectively to drive outcomes that matter. In this role, that looks like:

  • We ramp fast: Within the first 30 days, develop a deep understanding of TRM’s business, growth trajectory, investor base, and historical financing activity, and be prepared to represent the company confidently and accurately in investor conversations.
  • We lead from day one: Take ownership of active and near-term capital markets priorities early, including engaging with existing investors, responding to inbound interest, and shaping the company’s capital strategy alongside the VP of Finance and executive team.
  • We accelerate outcomes: Enable TRM to initiate and execute capital markets activity at any point by proactively building investor relationships and maintaining the company’s ability to move decisively.

Life at TRM

We are building a safer world. That promise shows up in how we work every day.

TRM runs fast. Really fast. We’re a high‑velocity, high‑ownership team that expects clarity, follow‑through, and impact. People who thrive here are energized by hard problems, experimentation, and direct feedback. If something takes months elsewhere, it often ships here in days.

That pace isn’t for everyone. If you are optimizing primarily for consistent work-life balance, use the interview process to pressure-test fit. We want teammates who thrive here, not just survive here.

Leadership Principles

We hire and grow against three leadership principles. They’re the standards for how we operate, treat each other, and make decisions.

  • Impact-Oriented Trailblazer: We put customers first and move with speed, focus, and adaptability. We treat every plan like an experiment – test, ship, measure, and iterate quickly.
  • Master Craftsperson: We care deeply about our craft. We balance speed with high standards, own outcomes end‑to‑end, and invest in getting better everyday.
  • Inspiring Colleague: We add clarity and energy, not noise. We bring humility, candor, and a one‑team mindset — giving and receiving feedback to make the team stronger.

The impact you will have

This work has real stakes. Depending on your role at TRM, your week might look like:

  • Driving critical investigations that can’t wait for typical business hours.
  • Shipping products in days when others would schedule quarters.
  • Partnering with teams across time zones to deliver insights while the story is still unfolding.
  • Building new solutions from first principles when the playbook doesn’t yet exist.
  • Protecting victims and customers by tracing illicit activity and disrupting criminal networks.
Join our Mission

At TRM we care deeply about our craft. We are looking for individuals who want their work to matter, who experiment with speed and rigor, and who take pride in building a safer world for billions of people. If you’re excited by TRM’s mission but don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply — we hire for slope, judgment, and the will to learn fast.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
