Higharc is a VC-backed startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. Join a founding team who’ve shipped products for Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple. In 2024, we raised a $53M Series B fundraising round with support from top-notch venture capital firms and more than 18 strategic investors—industry leaders in construction, building products manufacturing, and distribution.

We’re looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial leader to drive our business development initiatives across the U.S. and Canada. As the Head of Business Development, you’ll report to the VP of Sales and Success to activate Higharc’s network of homebuilders, strategic partners, and industry influencers. Leveraging your deep industry knowledge and network, you’ll build initiatives that create meaningful connections, elevate our brand, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Sales Pipeline Generation: Work closely with Sales to drive new opportunities, track deal progression, and measure impact on pipeline and revenue.
  • Strategic Account Development: Partner with Account Executives to identify, prioritize, and engage high-potential accounts, using insights to accelerate deal cycles and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Account Collaboration: Develop tailored strategies for strategic accounts, aligning with Sales on key initiatives to deepen relationships and move deals through the pipeline efficiently.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify, develop, and nurture relationships with homebuilders, influencers, and industry brands to generate new revenue streams and create a scalable partner ecosystem.
  • Thought Leadership: Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create compelling partner marketing assets, including case studies, whitepapers, and co-branded content.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish KPIs for partnerships and business development, including meetings, opportunities, and partner funnel metrics, and deliver regular performance insights to leadership.

Who You Are:

  • Industry Expertise: 10+ years in business development, sales or partnerships within the homebuilding industry or related sectors.
  • Builder Background and Network: Deep experience as a former builder or direct exposure to the challenges and needs of homebuilders is required. Have a robust network of contacts in the homebuilding space, with proven success in building and sustaining strategic partnerships.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Analytical Savvy: Ability to analyze data, report on engagement effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Collaboration-Oriented: Strong ability to collaborate across functions, including marketing, product, and sales.
  • Results-Driven: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed business development targets, with a focus on building long-term value.
  • Tech Forward: Experience with marketing automation and CRM systems is ideal.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary
  • Equity Packages
  • Health, dental & vision coverage
  • Home office & equipment stipend
  • Company Retreats
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Unlimited PTO

Higharc has been remote first since our founding in 2018. We offer flexible hours so you can do your best work without missing out on life. Higharc offers competitive salaries with significant equity, in a fast-growing, well-funded company. Personal healthiness is an important value for us- we provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with unlimited PTO, and meaningful maternity/paternity leave. You'll also have access to other big-company benefits such like short and long-term disability plans and a 401K. Haven't worked remotely before? We provide a stipend to create the ideal home office.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
