Overview

Compound Planning is a high-growth digital family office with over $5B in AUM. We serve entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees through a combination of personalized financial advice and a proprietary technology platform. Our cross-functional team of advisors, tax experts, engineers, and operators is building the financial institution of the future, one grounded in rigor, client trust, and operational excellence.

Today, content drives most of our growth: roughly 10K monthly visitors, 100 signups, and dozens of advisory intro meetings a month. The next stage of Compound's growth needs a measurable, multi-channel system that turns that attention into funded client relationships and brings great advisors onto our platform.

We want a Senior Manager to Senior Director level. Growth Marketing operator, who will own that system and its numbers. You will report directly to the CEO and partner closely with content, product, and revops.

What You'll Own

Client Growth

  • Compound's full-funnel growth model, from first touch to signup, advisor intro, funded client, and retained relationship

  • Targets for pipeline, conversion, acquisition cost, payback, and revenue

  • New acquisition channels beyond organic content, including paid, client referrals, and partnerships with centers of influence

  • Lifecycle strategy that turns signups into clients and deepens relationships with existing ones

Advisor Growth

  • Scaling the demand engine that brings experienced financial advisors to Compound, and the pipeline it delivers to our recruiting team

Measurement

  • Attribution and growth analytics, with support from revops, so every channel's impact on revenue is visible and trusted

What We're Looking For
  • A track record of scaling customer acquisition, with revenue growth you can point to

  • Strong quantitative skills: you think in conversion rates, acquisition cost, payback, and lifetime value, and you work directly in the data

  • A technical mindset: comfortable with data tools, automation, and AI, and at ease working alongside engineers

  • Experience starting channels and programs from zero, not only running ones that already existed

  • Hands-on across the full funnel, and comfortable in founder-led environments where growth leaders are expected to execute, not just direct

  • Clear, direct communication with a founder: crisp updates, honest numbers, and firm recommendations

  • Fintech, wealth management, or financial services experience is a plus, but not required

The Opportunity

This role suits a builder: a hands-on growth operator who wants to design the next phase of Compound's growth engine and own its results. It is not a fit for someone whose growth wins came mainly from hiring large teams and agencies.

You'll have a direct line to the CEO, real ownership of the numbers, and the mandate to own Compound's growth engine.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
