Our Approach

At Workweek, we’re solving the experience paradox: the idea that the more successful a business leader becomes, the harder it is for the world to access their knowledge.

We’re fixing that by building Operator Networks, high-trust, professional communities where every member is a verified leader in their field. These aren't just content feeds; they are spaces for real conversations, helpful insights, and the kind of events you actually want to attend. We’re reimagining the social network not as an attention trap, but as an expertise engine.

About the role

We are looking for a Growth Lead to be the "science" to our Director of Brand’s "soul."

At Workweek, growth isn't just about arbitrage or vanity metrics; it’s about connecting the right experts to the right communities at the right time. Your mission is to build the engine that fuels our networks in HR, Healthcare, Marketing, Ecom, Fintech, and beyond, ensuring they are the fastest-growing hubs in their industries.

You are a systems thinker who finds as much joy in a perfectly optimized lifecycle flow as you do in a high-performing creative set. You are the rare individual who can zoom out to architect a long-term LTV:CAC strategy in the morning, manage our paid agency, jump into optimizing a funnel in the afternoon.

This is a high-floor, high-ceiling role. You will own the acquisition funnel end-to-end, but you are a "player-coach" at heart. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Brand, Product, and Content leads to ensure that every touchpoint feels like a cohesive, elite experience. You’ll report to the Sr. Director of Marketing.

What you'll do
  • Own the Growth Strategy: You’ll lead user acquisition across paid media, lifecycle, newsletter growth, and partnerships. We’re looking for a systems-builder, not just someone who can "run ads."
  • Scale Multi-Channel Growth: Lead planning and execution across Meta, TikTok, newsletter networks, and emerging channels. You’ll have the final say on where we double down and where we cut spend.
  • Turn Data into Action: We have a robust reporting system in place. You should feel comfortable with data, question assumptions, and identify patterns.
  • Manage External Partners: Lead our agency relationships and vendors. You’ll set the strategy, audit performance, and ensure every partner meets the "Workweek Standard."
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with our Content, Creator, and Product teams. Growth shouldn't feel like an afterthought; it should be baked into the product.
  • Build the Stack: Own the "plumbing" from landing pages, lead magnets, and signup flows. You’ll own and test the infrastructure that lets us move fast.
Qualifications
  • 5–7+ Years of Experience: You’ve managed multi-million dollar budgets in paid growth or performance marketing.
  • Systems-First Thinking: You think in loops and funnels. You understand how small technical decisions compound over time.
  • High Level of Decisiveness: You’re a student of the data, but you have the creative intuition to know when the numbers don't tell the whole story.
  • Fluent in Data & Creative: You’re equally comfortable discussing LTV:CAC dynamics with a CFO and what creative wins with our agency
  • High Autonomy: You thrive in the "messy middle" of a startup. You don’t wait for permission; you set the direction and clear the path and run.
  • Newsletter Expertise: You have a genuine interest in (and a track record with) email and newsletters as primary growth drivers.
Benefits
  • Competitive pay (we don't pay based on location, we assign value to the role)
  • Equity in Workweek
  • Remote operations with the ability to work in the time zone of your choice (or work IRL in our Austin, TX office)
  • Unlimited PTO with a minimum of 3 days/quarter used
  • 100% health insurance coverage, 75% coverage for dependents, and $150/month towards an HSA (or $150/month health stipend if insurance not used)
  • 120 days of parental leave to use within one year of childbirth (available 12 months after your start date and only available every 365 days)
  • 401(k) plan with 3.5% company match
  • $500 one-time stipend for any home office needs used after the first 90 days
  • 5-week sabbatical after 4 years on staff
  • 2 volunteering days per year
  • 1x/year in-person team retreat
  • $100/month book stipend

Note: At Workweek, we’re passionate about building a diverse team. We care deeply about diversity, equality, and inclusion and strive to build a culture where everyone, from any background, feels included, supported, and free to be themselves.

If your experience is this close to what we’re looking for, please consider applying. Experience comes in many forms – skills are transferable, and passion goes a long way. We know that diversity makes for the best problem-solving and creative thinking, which is why we’re dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team and encourage everyone to apply

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
