What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Growth Engineer/Hacker - part marketer, part engineer, and full-on builder. Someone who can deeply understand our customers, spot unconventional growth opportunities, and build and ship experiments from 0-1. Former and future founders - this could be you.

What You'll Do

You'll design, build, and optimize growth-focused experiments that directly grow brand awareness and customer acquisition. As a hybrid marketer and engineer, this role is perfect if you have a hacker mindset, excited to try and ship experiments that have an outsized impact on the business.

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you might work on:

  • Create high-converting landing pages and interactive tools or demos
  • Build viral tools or shareable components that drive organic acquisition through word-of-mouth
  • Automate prospecting with creative, never-seen-before outreach tactics
  • Improve SEO and/or AI SEO with unique, high-leverage tactics
  • Create a script that auto-delivers pizzas to prospective customers
  • Analyze user feedback to identify friction points and implement solutions that improve retention
  • Design and implement A/B tests across our user journey to optimize conversion
  • [insert your growth hacking ideas here]

Who You Are

  • You have 3+ years of experience in driving growth and developing 0 to 1 products, whether in an engineering, PM, or growth capacity
  • You've built products using AI before (from standing up projects with Cursor to chaining agents with n8n)
  • You have a data-driven mindset and experience running A/B tests and interpreting results
  • You have strong copywriting skills and understand how messaging impacts virality and conversion
  • You're comfortable with basic design skills and can create visually appealing assets without always needing a designer
  • You're results-oriented and motivated by seeing your work directly impact business metrics
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, high-trust startup environment and enjoy owning entire growth initiatives

Bonus

  • You've worked with growth marketing teams before and understand the full marketing funnel
  • You have experience with AI tools and know how to use them to build and ship products
  • You've done something that has gone viral before or had an outsized outcome
  • You have skills in animation and interaction design to create memorable user experiences
  • You've been an early-stage employee at a startup and understand how to prioritize for maximum impact
  • You have experience with analytics implementation and building dashboards to track growth metrics

Benefits and Perks:

  • Ownership: Influence the trajectory of an early-stage startup.
  • Competitive Compensation: Top-tier salary and equity.
  • Title will be commensurate based on experience
  • Health & Retirement: Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Time Off: Generous vacation and parental leave policies.
  • We are an equal opportunity employer. We ensure that none of our employees or prospective employees receives less favourable treatment as a result of age, sex, disability, marital status, colour, race, religion or ethnic origin. Equally we aim to ensure that no such employee is disadvantaged by terms and conditions of employment which cannot be justified.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
