The Graphics Operator is responsible for the creation, building, and real-time operation of broadcast graphics across multiple platforms and rendering systems for FanDuel TV. This position requires expertise in operating graphics systems including Xpression, Chyron, and other industry-standard software to deliver high-quality visual content for live broadcasts. The Graphics Operator will work collaboratively with producers, directors, and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of insert graphics, studio graphics, social media graphics, and Virtual Production elements. This role is as much technical as it is creative, requiring proficiency in understanding graphics hardware, signal flow, and production workflows in addition to having a creative and detailed eye for compelling visual design.
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.
THE GAME PLAN

- Operate multiple graphics systems including Xpression, Chyron, and other rendering software to play out graphics to air during live broadcasts and pre-produced segments
- Pre-build graphics for live shows and post-production, ensuring all elements are tested and ready for broadcast
- Design templates and associated motions for graphics to be used on-air, in studio monitors, LED walls, and virtual production environments
- Utilize pre-made templates to build requested graphics while having the ability to conceptualize, design, and implement custom graphic solutions
- Create and implement graphics for studio monitors, LED walls, and virtual sets, ensuring proper formatting and resolution for various display technologies
- Collaborate with the Virtual Production team to integrate graphics within Unreal Engine environments and understand the VP pipeline workflow
- Check for accuracy of information provided, including fact-checking, statistical verification, and grammatical accuracy
- Troubleshoot issues with Chyron, Xpression, and other graphics applications in real-time during live productions
- Create engaging social media graphics optimized for multiple platforms while maintaining broadcast quality standards
- Develop and maintain custom Ross Dashboard panels that interface with Xpression for enhanced workflow automation and control
- Work closely with engineering teams to optimize graphics rendering across multiple outputs including SDI, HTML5, and IP-based systems
- Maintain organized project files and graphics databases for efficient retrieval during fast-paced live broadcasts
- Take a proactive approach to spot trends and predict appropriate next steps in high-pressure graphics and wagering environments
- Configure and maintain graphics hardware including character generators, rendering engines, and associated broadcast equipment
- Understand signal routing, timing, and synchronization requirements for graphics systems within the broadcast chain
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Broadcasting, Digital Media, or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a graphics operator in a live television environment
- Expert proficiency in graphics technology including Chyron Lyric and Ross Xpression
- Strong understanding of Ross Dashboard with ability to create custom dashboard panels that interface with Xpression
- Experience in design and creation of graphic templates with the ability to conceptualize, design, and implement graphic solutions
- Working knowledge of Virtual Production workflows and experience with Unreal Engine for broadcast applications
- Strong understanding of graphics implementation for LED walls and studio monitor systems
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of graphics hardware architecture, signal flow, and technical troubleshooting
- Knowledge of broadcast standards, color spaces, and technical specifications for various delivery platforms
- Experience with sports broadcasting and comprehensive understanding of various sports statistics and terminology
- Accurate and fast typing skills for real-time data entry during live productions
- Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced, live television and wagering environments
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
- Excellent attention to detail with a creative eye for design and visual storytelling
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by sports schedules
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

The applicable hourly range for this position is $31.73 - $39.90 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
