Summary

The Graphic Designer will work with the Marketing Manager to understand the project needs and work from a creative brief to create design solutions with high visual impact for both Rocky brand divisions. Designs are required for a variety of products and activities, such as logos, print and digital advertising, catalogs, point of purchase materials, packaging, exhibits, displays, events, corporate communications, corporate identity, web, and social.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Work cohesively within a multi-departmental team that is responsible for the research, development and launch of new product collections.
  • Actively participate in meetings and collaborate with all levels of the organization, to establish marketing strategies.
  • Translate marketing objectives into creative strategies.
  • Develop design briefs by gathering information and data.
  • Execute creative projects related to marketing campaigns, from conception to completion - including but not limited to Point of Purchase (POP), packaging, print advertising, catalogs, line sheets, price lists and other similar collateral pieces.
  • Work with vendors to secure accurate print and production quotes via clear quote request specifications.
  • Work within the development timeline and process to design label and packaging materials for new products and distribute art and instructions to factories via a product line management enterprise tool.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Manager and Trade Show Coordinator, create national trade show graphics and materials.
  • Manage and organize assets on marketing drive for efficient use – including artwork designs, presentations, lifestyle photography.
  • Assist in all project administrative duties.
  • Ensure graphics and messages are consistent with brand image and standards.
  • Utilize a wide range of media to aid in design.
  • Keep abreast of current trends and innovative technologies.
  • Maintain expenses within the budget limits.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college with course work in Graphic Design or marketing related courses; or four (4) to six (6) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of related experience.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Microsoft applications including PowerPoint.
  • Superior communication skills including written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity with the outdoor space is a plus
