Overview
The Graphic Designer, VM/Creative is primarily responsible for ensuring all global Sephora gondola and temporary animation fixture graphics are print-ready per set standards and timelines. The role entails creating and updating a large volume of graphics using dielines, preparing digital files for printing, and creating pixel-perfect digital assets. This designer must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with the Sr. Art Director and VM Manager, and possess a solid understanding of good design and typography.
What You’ll Do
- Create print-ready files for all global in-store design projects, including gondolas, store fixtures, animations, and window posters (60% of time).
- Build highly detailed digital mechanical files of visual merchandising graphics for Sephora store fixtures in multiple languages and country versions (NA, UK, EU, APAC) using Adobe InDesign.
- Partner closely with the Sr. Art Director of VM, VM Project Manager, and Creative team members, using Asana to track projects with utmost efficiency and accuracy.
- Follow established brand style guidelines when working with image assets and brand typography, and create graphics using translation documents.
- Prioritize and manage a large volume of projects with tight deadlines, while simultaneously reviewing revisions and comments via Asana or Google Slides.
- Review both digital and printed proofs with a keen eye for detail and color accuracy, making accurate changes to digital files based on proofing comments.
- Prepare, package, and release a large volume of digital mechanical files according to vendor specifications, with a strong understanding of printing processes.
- Create pixel-perfect digital assets based on approved templates for projects including emails, paid ads, and site assets (40% of time).
What We Are Looking For
- BA in Graphic Design or other relevant education or experience.
- 3-5 years of professional experience (preferably within an in-house beauty or retail creative team).
- Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High level of technical knowledge and skill (e.g., building clean InDesign files with multiple layers, simple retouching, keyboard shortcuts, understanding of printing processes).
- Ability to work independently to prepare and release small and large format files.
- Ability to distinguish and execute good layout and typography.
- Acute attention to detail and ability to maintain quality control on many projects at once.
