Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Summer Intern to support content cleanup and business writing initiatives within our proposal and response platform, Responsive. This role will focus on reviewing, updating, and organizing existing content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and usability for proposal teams. The intern will work closely with strategic response and enablement stakeholders and gain hands‑on experience in content management, business writing, and proposal operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing proposal and response content in Responsive for accuracy, relevance, and clarity

  • Edit and rewrite content to improve readability, consistency, and alignment with style guidelines

  • Identify outdated, duplicate, or unused content and support cleanup, consolidation, and archiving efforts

  • Apply standardized naming conventions, tags, and metadata to improve searchability and reuse

  • Assist with light content writing, summaries, and content standardization as needed

  • Document content gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities

  • Collaborate with full‑time team members to understand content usage and priorities

  • Follow established content governance and quality standards

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

  • Strong written communication and editing skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or errors

  • Comfortable working with written content in digital tools or content management systems

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow structured processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with content cleanup, editing, or writing projects

  • Familiarity with proposal writing, RFP responses, or business writing

  • Interest in healthcare, technology, or enterprise software

  • Experience with tools such as Responsive, SharePoint, Highspot, or similar platforms (not required)

Learning Opportunities

  • Hands‑on experience supporting real proposal and response content used in high‑impact business opportunities

  • Exposure to proposal operations, sales enablement, and content governance

  • Development of professional writing, editing, and content management skills

Internship Details

Duration: Summer internship

Location: Remote

Hours: 20-32 hrs per week

Video Camera Usage:

Availity fosters a collaborative and open culture where communication and engagement are central to our success.  As a remote first company, we are also camera-first and provide all associates with camera/video capability to simulate the office environment. If you are not able to use your camera for all virtual meetings, you should not apply for this role.

Having cameras on helps create a more connected, interactive, and productive environment, allowing teams to communicate more effectively and build stronger working relationships.  The usage of cameras also enhances security and protects sensitive company information. Video participation is required to ensure that only authorized personnel are present in meetings and to prevent unauthorized access, data breaches, preventing social engineering, or the sharing of confidential information with non-participants.
