Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

We’re looking for a Global Supply Chain Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for our memory and storage portfolio, including DRAM components and modules, and NAND-based storage products such as solid-state drives (SSDs). You will own commodity strategy, commercial negotiations, and supply assurance from new product introduction through volume production. Working closely with Hardware Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Procurement, you will align supplier technology roadmaps, capacity commitments, and cost targets with our product requirements and build plans.

This role is hybrid, based in Toronto, ON, Austin, TX, or Santa Clara, CA.

We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in strategic sourcing or commodity management for memory and storage, with knowledge of DRAM components and modules, including DDR memory, and NAND-based storage products including SSDs. You understand the supplier ecosystem, technology roadmaps, qualification requirements, and commercial dynamics of these commodities.
  • Comfortable managing direct relationships with global memory and storage manufacturers and authorized distributors, with a track record of negotiating pricing, supply agreements, and capacity commitments.
  • A structured, analytical operator who translates demand forecasts, supplier roadmaps, lead times, and market conditions into sourcing and inventory decisions.
  • An effective cross-functional partner who works with engineering and operations to align technical requirements, supplier qualification, product cost, and production readiness.
  • Confident balancing long-term supplier strategy with daily execution, including allocation negotiations, shortage recovery, and changes in demand.

What We Need

  • Own the global memory and storage commodity strategy, including supplier selection, sourcing plans, commercial agreements, and supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Lead pricing and contract negotiations with manufacturers and authorized supply partners, including volume tiers, allocation commitments, lead times, payment terms, and excess and obsolete inventory liability.
  • Partner with Hardware Engineering and NPI teams to align sourcing plans with product requirements and supplier technology roadmaps. Support approved vendor lists, alternate-source qualification, and material readiness for prototype builds and production ramps.
  • Translate product forecasts and BOM requirements into demand plans, then align supplier capacity, allocation, and delivery commitments with build schedules and longer-term requirements. Monitor DRAM and NAND market conditions, supplier capacity, and technology transitions to recommend sourcing actions.
  • Manage supply continuity, inventory exposure, and supply risk across manufacturers, distributors, and contract manufacturers. Resolve allocation and delivery issues, maintain visibility to open orders, manage product changes and lifecycle events, reduce single-source and geographic risk, and lead supplier business reviews and corrective actions.

What You Will Learn

  • How memory and storage supplier roadmaps, cost drivers, qualification processes, and commercial decisions influence system cost, production readiness, and supply continuity.
  • How supplier economics, pricing cycles, allocation management, and long-term agreements shape sourcing decisions across a global supply base.
  • How memory and storage sourcing impacts product launches, production continuity, margins, working capital, and measurable business outcomes.

Tenstorrent offers a highly competitive compensation package and benefits, and we are an equal opportunity employer.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
