What team will you be on?

The BlackRock Global Allocation platform (the “Strategy”) was incepted in 1989, with the launch of the Global Allocation Fund and has been a flagship of the unconstrained, diversified style of investing for over 30 year. In response to client needs, the platform has since expanded its product offerings to include a range of mutual funds and model offerings as well as offshore, sub-advised, and institutional vehicles.

Embedded within the Global Allocation team is the Product Strategy team, responsible for representing the investment team on a global basis to both retail and institutional clients. Critical to the success of the Product Strategy team is the product management across global distribution platform, including client servicing and product implementation, in addition to thought leadership, and marketing /sales enablement initiatives. 

Why is your role important?

The Global Allocation business is looking for a product strategist to support the cross-organizational efforts to position and prioritize the growth and servicing of our suite of products.  The primary responsibility of the role will be to support product strategists, fund managers, institutional and retail sales teams in promoting our products globally.

The individual will support the integration and delivery of the team’s client reporting and framework, with a specific focus on ways to further automation to scale the multi-faced platform. This will include working on the production of presentation slides, marketing materials, RFPs, reports and client queries – with a focus on ensuring the framework remains scalable and institutionalized, utilizing technology and BlackRock applications to evolve the production of deliverables.

The successful candidate will possess a growing knowledge of multi-asset investments, investment management and global economics. Additionally, the candidate must have strong technology skills and the ability to form trusted relationships and work across the organization. They will also have a very good understanding of the needs of a very wide range of clients.

What will you be doing?

  • Work alongside the investment team to represent the Global Allocation suite of offerings.

  • Maintain a complete understanding of the team’s philosophy, investment and risk positioning, and product suite so as to be a credible team representative.

  • Work closely on the production and further automation of the monthly deliverable’s framework, with a strong attention to detail to ensure integrity of data.

  • Collaborate with BlackRock reporting teams and FFI product strategy to share and implement best practices, especially as it relates to the production of deliverables.

  • Provide ongoing business support as directed for the senior product strategists on the team in the pursuit of product growth.

  • Support Sales & Marketing activities including pitch book generation, RFPs, market commentaries, and thought leadership pieces.

  • Complete a wide variety of ad hoc client requests and strive to deliver a superior level of client service.

What are we looking for?

  • BA/BS required with strong quantitative skills.

  • Proficient using Python, VBA, SQL, Tableau or other languages or tools.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint essential; Bloomberg and other market data systems useful

  • Creative, analytical problem solver who’s comfortable with using a wide range of technology

  • Independent thinker with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks

  • Disciplined organization and project management skills with attention to detail

  • Ambitious work ethic and professional disposition

  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form meaningful working partnerships

  • Strong understanding of the asset management industry and capital markets

  • Ability to provide business support processes with input and feedback from senior strategists

  • Post graduate qualifications favorable (CFA, CIMA, etc.)

  • Proven financial services experience

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$85,500.00 - USD$105,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
