We are looking for a Genie Sales Director (IC) to accelerate adoption of Databricks Genie across large enterprise customers. This role will connect line-of-business priorities with data, BI, and AI capabilities—helping customers move from high-value business questions to trusted, production-grade Genie experiences while enabling the field to scale the motion.

The impact you will have
  • Deliver assigned Genie consumption, bookings, and activation goals by prioritizing high-potential enterprise accounts and converting unactivated demand into production usage.
  • Increase the number of enterprise Genie opportunities that achieve executive-backed business validation and progress from an initial use case to repeatable production deployments.
  • Build and scale field plays around Genie, semantic models, trusted data, and line-of-business analytics that create measurable pipeline and usage growth.
  • Improve field execution by equipping account teams and specialists with repeatable guidance on use-case discovery, qualification, value articulation, demonstrations, and opportunity progression.
  • Establish a scalable engagement model across sales, solutions architecture, business-unit enablement, and partners that increases specialist-influenced pipeline and accelerates customer decisions.
  • Turn customer, field, and competitive feedback into clear product and go-to-market recommendations that strengthen Databricks’ position in business-facing analytics and AI.
  • Build internal and external executive credibility for Genie, increasing strategic sponsorship and expanding adoption across priority accounts.
What we look for
  • Enterprise software sales or consulting experience in BI, analytics, data platforms, embedded analytics, or business-facing AI solutions, with a track record of exceeding quota or comparable growth goals.
  • Experience selling into complex organizations and mapping buying centers across CIOs, data and IT executives, line-of-business leaders, program managers, and technical practitioners.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn business problems into compelling use cases, quantified business cases, and executive-level value narratives.
  • Experience driving land-and-expand motions from initial adoption through broader account penetration and production scale.
  • Customer and market experience in one or more complex or regulated industries, such as financial services, life sciences, retail, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to build and activate partner strategies that contribute to implementation quality, time to value, and customer success.
  • Ability to explain complex data, BI, semantic-model, and AI concepts in clear language and build credibility with both business and technical audiences.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
