We are seeking a Full-Stack Web3 Developer to bridge the gap between traditional web applications and decentralized networks. In this role, you will own the end-to-end development of decentralized applications (dApps), from crafting responsive user interfaces in React to building robust backend services and integrating smart contracts. The ideal candidate is fluent in the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem and possesses a deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals, wallet mechanics, and on-chain data flows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Development: Design and build scalable, high-performance web applications using React (and Next.js) on the frontend and Node.js (Express/NestJS) on the backend .
  • Web3 Integration: Implement seamless wallet connectivity (MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet) and handle transaction lifecycles, including signing and error handling .
  • Smart Contract Interaction: Integrate frontend and backend services with EVM-compatible smart contracts using libraries such as Ethers.js or Viem .
  • Backend Services: Build and maintain APIs that index blockchain data, process transactions, and handle off-chain logic (e.g., user profiles, metadata caching) .
  • Security & Best Practices: Ensure code quality and security, particularly regarding private key management (client-side vs. server-side) and protection against common vulnerabilities .
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver user-friendly Web3 experiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 1 year of hands-on Web3 development .
  • Frontend: Strong proficiency in React, Hooks, and modern state management (Context API, Redux, or Zustand) .
  • Backend: Solid experience with Node.js and building RESTful APIs; familiarity with TypeScript is required .
  • Blockchain: Practical experience with Ethereum (or other EVM chains) and a solid understanding of Solidity (reading and integrating, not necessarily writing from scratch) .
  • Web3 Libraries: Proficiency with Ethers.js, Web3.js, or Viem .

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Layer 2 solutions (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon).
  • Familiarity with The Graph protocol or custom blockchain indexers.
  • Experience with account abstraction (ERC-4337) or smart wallets .
  • Knowledge of DeFi protocols or NFT marketplaces (ERC-721/1155) .
  • Prior experience in a startup environment or shipping production dApps .

What We Offer

  • Compensation: Competitive base salary + equity/token incentives (if applicable).
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (US-friendly).
  • Flexibility: Remote-first culture with flexible working hours.
  • Growth: A learning budget for conferences and certifications (e.g., blockchain courses).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
