Performs front-office clerical duties, greets and checks in Medicare enrollment clients, answers phones, schedules appointments, conducts follow-ups, supports marketing events and outreach, distributes materials, responds to website inquiries, and follows HIPAA consent protocols. The role also provides exposure to health insurance sales and enrollment activities.
The Front Office Assistant will perform a variety of general clerical duties and special projects. Thie Front Office Assistant will also learn about insurance sales.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greets and checks-in clients visiting the GHIA office with Medicare enrollment inquiries.
- Contacts clients who have completed PTC (Permission To Call) consent to follow up with their Medicare and/or enrollment questions.
- Schedules and maintains appointments to promote sales and enrollments
- Answers phone calls and respond to inquiries appropriately.
- Calls clients to remind them of upcoming appointment and/or changes
- Assists in marketing events and information seminars
- Prepares and send out marketing materials for GHIA.
- Assists in other outreach projects.
- Reviews and responds to client inquires received via GHIA website, or forwards to appropriate personnels
- Complies to HIPAA protocols and obtains proper consent.
- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.
Qualifications
- Completion of a high school diploma is required; Associate degree or higher is preferred.
- Must be proficient in computers.
- Must have strong communication, customer service skills, and attention to detail.
- Prior customer service experience required.
- Prior experience with health insurance is a plus.
- Interest in the field of health insurance sales.
LANGUAGE:
- Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.
- Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) and/or Vietnamese is required.
- Fluency in other languages is an asset.
STATUS:
- This is an FLSA Nonexempt position.
- This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
