POSITION SUMMARY:

This position in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) involves providing detailed financial analysis and supporting business unit management in decision-making and budgeting processes. The role requires driving strategic business decisions in the ‘Customer Success’ vertical through analytics, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimization, and presenting insights to senior leadership. Key responsibilities include data collection, modelling, advanced analytics, and creating actionable dashboards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions, interfacing with executive management to gather requirements and deliver complete reporting solutions.
  • Enable Enhanced Decision Making: Drive strategic business decisions through detailed analytics, insights, and real-time reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the Customer Success vertical including detailed metrics across customer retention costs & customer expansion costs
  • Financial Analysis: Provide comprehensive financial analysis to business unit management, supporting informed decision-making
  • Business Insights: Demonstrate the ability to present and provide meaningful business insights from data, not just produce reports.
  • Improvement & Optimization: Identify areas for improvement, increased sales, and cost optimization opportunities through various analysis, comparative analytics, statistical, and data mining techniques.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze large data sets from internal systems to uncover actionable insights.
  • Data Modeling: Model data for ad hoc and pre-built reporting, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Operational Solutions: Define, retrieve, and analyze large datasets using Excel and SQL to drive and define operational solutions and approaches.
  • Cost Optimization & Revenue Enhancement: Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement, contributing to the financial health of the organization.
  • Investment Evaluation: Evaluate investment opportunities and assess their financial impact, providing recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Presentation of Findings: Present findings to business leaders at all levels, including senior management, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
  • Advanced Analytics: Utilize advanced analytics tools to analyze financial and operational data, driving informed decision-making.
  • Dashboard Creation: Create dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights, facilitating real-time monitoring and strategic adjustments.
  • Reporting: Lead the creation, analysis and dissemination of monthly reporting presentation packs across leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of data analysis, financial modeling, business and strategic finance experience
  • Experience as a Finance Business partner at a SaaS startup or tech company
  • Strong understanding of Go-to-Market (GTM) function, including Customer Success
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Proven experience in forecasting, analysis, and comprehensive business reporting to provide accurate and insightful recommendations.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and implement methods to ensure procedures are completed to the highest standard.
  • Relationship Building: Strong ability to build solid internal and external relationships at all levels.
  • Client-Service Mindset: Must possess a client-service mindset and a desire to take on tough and challenging projects.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Data Analysis: Expertise in data analysis, including variance analysis and identifying business drivers
  • Tools Proficiency: Extensive experience with accounting, financial reporting, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Data Visualization: Expert-level knowledge of Tableau or similar tools.
  • Reporting: Ability to prepare and present financial reports, variance analysis, and KPIs to senior leadership.

This position reports to our San Francisco office 2x per week

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree across Finance / STEM verticals would be preferred

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Annual Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 + eligibility for yearly bonus

$130,000$150,000 USD
