HealthSnap (healthsnap.io) is hiring an FP&A Lead to join a small, high-performing finance team and make an immediate impact on how we drive margin and profitability.

About HealthSnap

HealthSnap provides a remote care management platform built for providers and health systems to manage chronic conditions. We help care teams identify risk earlier, engage patients between visits, and deliver better outcomes at scale. As we grow, we are focused on gross margin expansion and sustainable profitability, and finance is central to how we get there.

The Role

As our FP&A Lead, you will be the analytical engine behind our margin and profitability goals. You will turn operational, clinical, and contract data into clear decisions for the executive team and board, and you will have direct exposure to senior leadership from day one. This is not a reporting-only seat. We need someone who finds where margin is leaking, quantifies the opportunity, and works with operators to fix it.

You will join an existing, small finance team and report to the Corporate Controller. Expect broad scope, high visibility, and real ownership.

What You'll Do

Gross margin analysis

  • Build and maintain a detailed gross margin model covering cost of service: devices, cellular connectivity, clinical operations, and logistics.
  • Track unit economics per patient and per program, and identify the levers that move margin (device cost, cellular fees, staffing productivity, utilization).
  • Partner with Operations, Clinical, and Supply Chain to turn findings into specific initiatives with owners and measurable targets.

Budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting

  • Support the annual budget and rolling forecasts with driver-based revenue, COGS, and opex models.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting and variance analysis that explains what happened, why, and what we are doing about it.
  • Build KPI packages, scenario analyses, and supporting materials for executive and board meetings.

Customer and contract profitability

  • Build customer- and contract-level P&Ls to show which health system relationships, pricing structures, and contract terms drive or erode margin.
  • Model the financial impact of contract negotiations, addenda, fee changes, and renewals before they are signed.
  • Flag underperforming accounts and recommend pricing or operational responses.

Pricing and APCM/agentification unit economics

  • Model pricing scenarios and the economics of new care models, including Advanced Primary Care Management (APCM) and agentification (automation of clinical and operational workflows).
  • Quantify the margin impact of automation, including cost-to-serve before and after.
  • Support go-to-market and product decisions with clear ROI and payback analysis.

Finance operations partnership

  • Work closely with the Corporate Controller to keep actuals, close processes, and forecasts tightly aligned.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance experience.
  • Strong financial modeling skills (three-statement and driver-based) and advanced spreadsheet skills in Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience with gross margin, unit economics, or customer profitability analysis.
  • Ability to communicate findings simply and directly to executives and non-finance partners.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, a bias toward action, and the discipline to get the numbers right.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Our stack (familiarity preferred): QuickBooks, Salesforce, Databricks, Tableau, Coefficient, and Google Workspace.

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare, health tech, or RPM, including familiarity with CPT billing codes, Medicare reimbursement, or value-based care economics.
  • Experience supporting executive or board reporting.
  • Experience in a high-growth or tech-enabled services company with a focus on margin improvement.

What Success Looks Like

  • First 30 days: Learn the business and the data. Map the full cost-of-service structure and current margin by customer and program.
  • First 90 days: Deliver a gross margin bridge and a customer profitability view that leadership uses in decisions. Own the monthly reporting cadence with the Corporate Controller.
  • First 12 months: Own the budget and forecast process alongside the Controller, and have clear fingerprints on measurable margin improvement and on pricing and contract decisions.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $100,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on experience and skills. Fully remote within the US.

Bonus or equity may be considered as part of a total compensation package.

Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO.

Equal Employment Opportunity

HealthSnap is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs, without discrimination based on any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. HealthSnap is unable to provide employment-based visa sponsorship for this position.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
