About the company
Our client is a manufacturing company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Build core software from scratch as one of the first engineers, working alongside hardware engineers with a high degree of autonomy. You will own problems end to end, including time spent on the production floor with operators, and make key technical decisions independently.
What you'll do
- Design and build new software systems from scratch across front end and back end.
- Own problems end to end and ship fixes informed by direct conversations with floor operators.
- Make significant product and architecture decisions independently, in partnership with hardware engineers.
- Move quickly from idea to production, focusing on the work that delivers the most value first.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- At least 2 years of experience releasing dependable, production-grade software at scale, with TypeScript on the front end and Python or Go on the back end.
- Experience designing complex data models and relational systems from the ground up.
- Comfort starting from a blank page rather than layering onto an existing tool.
- A strong record of well-crafted products that reached users.
- Ability to work without dedicated product, QA or design support and with minimal review cycles.
- High urgency, with the ability to set and meet aggressive timelines.
- Confidence to hold and defend opinions, and to persuade others and act rather than wait for direction.
- Grit, ambition and a genuine desire to work hands-on alongside operators.
