The role involves architecting and building an internal AI copilot platform, applying AI technologies to streamline workflows and enhance decision-making across teams. Responsibilities include end-to-end ownership of internal systems, rapid prototyping, and collaboration to automate operations.
About the company
Hi, we're Ondo Finance. Our mission is to provide institutional-grade, blockchain-enabled investment products and services. We have both a technology arm that develops decentralized finance technology, and an asset management arm that creates and manages tokenized funds. We were the first company to tokenize exposure to US Treasuries, and have since expanded into several other assets. We are also focused on incubating protocols that can support both tokenized real-world assets and traditional crypto.
Founded by folks from Goldman Sachs Digital Assets Team, we’re backed by some of the best investors in the world including Founders Fund, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital, Tiger Global, and more. We are currently the leaders in the space in terms of AUM and are well capitalized to continue growing the firm. We're fully remote, with team members across the U.S.
About the role
We’re looking for a senior, hands-on Engineer who will be the primary builder and architect of our internal AI copilot platform. This platform will be used daily by every team to ship faster, automate workflows, and make better decisions. In this role, you will be a is a force-multiplier IC today with a clear path to owning an internal AI platform/team as we scale.
This is not a research-focused role. We're looking for a pragmatic engineer with strong product judgment, capable of designing and shipping internal tooling systems from prototype to production, iterating quickly based on real user needs.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build internal AI-powered systems that connect company data, tools, and workflows
- Own solutions end-to-end — from backend services and data pipelines to lightweight user interfaces
- Apply modern AI capabilities (LLMs, retrieval, orchestration) to real operational problems across teams
- Rapidly prototype and iterate based on real user feedback, balancing speed with sound system design
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify high-leverage automation opportunities
- Help define and evolve Ondo’s internal AI roadmap as usage scales
- In the first 6 months, you might:
- Ship an internal ‘Ondo Copilot’ that answers cross-functional questions and routes workflows
- Automate operational workflows end-to-end between Slack, Notion, and internal services
- Build a small RAG platform that other engineers can plug into
Requirements
- 6–12+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer, operating at a Senior or Staff IC level
- Strong systems design experience building scalable services, data pipelines, and integrations across multiple internal tools
- Experience shipping production-grade software end-to-end, from architecture through deployment and monitoring
- Demonstrated ability to apply modern AI tools (e.g., LLM APIs, retrieval systems, automation frameworks) to real-world workflows — without overengineering
- Strong product judgment and ability to independently identify high-leverage problems and deliver pragmatic solutions
- Comfortable operating as a founding IC with high autonomy and minimal oversight
Nice to haves
- Experience building internal platforms, developer productivity tools, or business enablement systems
- Familiarity with AI experimentation and emerging tooling (e.g., Claude, OpenAI, Copilot, agent frameworks)
- Experience integrating enterprise systems (Slack, Notion, CRM, finance tools, data warehouses)
- Background in regulated or security-conscious environments (fintech, enterprise SaaS, etc.)
- Prior experience scaling an internal tool from prototype to company-wide adoption

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
