Forward Deployed Creative (FDC) — Full-Time
🎬 About OpenArt

OpenArt is building the platform of visual storytelling with generative AI, empowering creators to tell stories, design worlds, and express ideas with ease and style. Our platform blends cutting-edge generative models with intuitive creative tools, enabling anyone to craft high-quality visual stories with character and soul.

📣 About the Role

We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Creative (FDC) who can help creative teams unlock the full potential of OpenArt.

You’ll work directly with our enterprise clients—including brands, agencies, studios, marketing teams, and other creative organizations—to onboard and educate their teams, demonstrate creative workflows, answer questions, and help them integrate generative AI into the way they create.

This is not a traditional customer success, support, or technical solutions role. You are a creative professional and educator first. We’re looking for someone who comes from a creative background such as film, television, advertising, marketing, design, or production—and understands the standards, workflows, and language of the creative teams we serve.

You should be highly experienced with generative AI image and video tools and have a strong understanding of the latest models, their capabilities, and how they fit into professional creative workflows. Familiarity with OpenArt is a significant plus, especially if you already use the platform as part of your creative process. The ideal person combines creative craft and taste with deep generative AI knowledge, allowing you to understand what a client is trying to achieve, demonstrate the right workflows, and help their team produce work that meets a professional creative bar.

Your first priority will be enterprise training and education, but you’ll also have opportunities to contribute creatively to OpenArt Studios, working on client projects, creative ideation, workflow development, demos, and experimentation with new models and techniques.

If you love creating with generative AI, teaching others, presenting your ideas, and solving creative problems, this role puts you directly at the intersection of our product, our customers, and the future of AI-powered creativity.

✨ What You’ll Do
  • Lead onboarding and training for OpenArt's enterprise clients.

Run engaging, hands-on training sessions for creative teams at brands, agencies, studios, and other organizations. Help clients understand not just how OpenArt works, but how to apply it to their own creative workflows.

  • Teach generative AI through real creative workflows.

Demonstrate image and video generation, character workflows, visual storytelling, model selection, prompting, iteration, and other creative techniques using real-world examples.

  • Become a trusted creative resource for clients.

Answer questions during onboarding and provide occasional follow-up guidance as teams begin incorporating OpenArt into their day-to-day creative process.

  • Adapt training to different creative teams and use cases.

Understand what a client is trying to create and tailor your approach accordingly. A brand team, creative agency, studio, and social team may all use OpenArt differently—you should be comfortable adjusting how you teach.

  • Standardize and improve our enterprise training process.

Help turn what we learn from each onboarding into repeatable training frameworks, documentation, demos, best practices, and educational resources that allow us to deliver a consistently excellent experience as we scale.

  • Stay at the forefront of generative AI.

Keep up with the latest image and video models, techniques, workflows, and creative capabilities across the generative AI ecosystem. Experiment with new approaches and understand where different models excel.

  • Contribute creatively to OpenArt Studios.

When not focused on enterprise training, collaborate with the Studios team on client projects, creative ideation, AI production, demos, prompt and workflow development, and experimentation with new creative techniques.

  • Bring client learnings back to OpenArt.

Identify recurring questions, workflow challenges, and creative opportunities you encounter while working with customers and share those insights with the broader OpenArt team.

  • Represent OpenArt confidently.

Present OpenArt in virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, demos, and other client-facing environments. Be comfortable presenting to groups and explaining creative concepts clearly.

  • Travel when required.

Be willing to travel for client onboarding, workshops, events, or other OpenArt initiatives when needed.

🔎 What We’re Looking ForCore Requirements
  • A professional creative background is essential. You should come from a creative industry such as film, television, advertising, marketing, design, creative production, or a related field. We’re looking for someone who understands creative craft, has a strong bar for visual quality and taste, and can speak the same creative language as the clients and teams they’ll be working with.

  • Deep hands-on knowledge of generative AI image and video tools, including the latest models, their strengths, limitations, and appropriate creative use cases.

  • A portfolio or body of work demonstrating strong AI-generated image, video, storytelling, commercial, or creative content.

  • Ability to incorporate generative AI into a broader professional creative workflow, rather than simply experimenting with individual prompts.

  • Ability to understand a creative objective and determine the appropriate models, tools, prompts, references, and workflows needed to achieve it.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to teach and speak in front of groups, both virtually and in person.

  • Ability to explain complex AI concepts and workflows in a way that is clear, practical, and approachable.

  • Comfortable answering questions and troubleshooting creative challenges in real time.

  • Fluent English speaker.

  • Willingness to travel when required.

What Makes You Stand Out
  • You’ve worked closely with brands, agencies, studios, or enterprise creative teams and understand how their creative processes actually work.

  • You’ve helped build or improve training programs, onboarding systems, playbooks, or educational resources that can scale beyond a single session.

  • You’re comfortable navigating open-ended creative challenges where there may not be an established workflow or obvious solution.

  • You naturally look for ways to turn what you learn into repeatable processes, making the next project, training, or onboarding better than the last.

  • Familiarity with OpenArt is a significant plus, particularly if you already use the platform as part of your creative workflow.

  • Senior-level expertise is a plus, but we're equally interested in exceptional creators and educators who demonstrate strong creative judgment, initiative, and versatility.

Soft Skills
  • Educator mindset: You genuinely enjoy helping other people understand new tools and become better creators.

  • Creative problem solver: You don't just know which buttons to press—you can figure out how to get from a creative idea to the desired result.

  • Strong communicator: You're comfortable explaining, demonstrating, answering questions, and adapting your communication to different audiences.

  • High creative taste: You understand what makes an image, video, or story compelling and can help others improve their work.

  • Curious and experimental: You're constantly exploring new models, workflows, techniques, and possibilities within generative AI.

  • Adaptable: You can work with a sophisticated creative studio one day and a team completely new to generative AI the next.

  • Resourceful and proactive: You're comfortable figuring things out, improving processes, and creating resources when they don't already exist.

  • Collaborative: You can work across clients, Studios, product, marketing, and other teams within OpenArt.

💖 Why OpenArt?

This is an opportunity to help define how some of the world's creative teams adopt and use generative AI.

You won't just be demonstrating software. You'll help brands, agencies, studios, and creative teams rethink what's possible in their creative process—and teach them how to turn those possibilities into real work with OpenArt.

You'll also remain an active creator yourself, collaborating with OpenArt Studios, experimenting with the newest generative AI models, developing new workflows, and helping us continuously improve how we teach and enable creativity at scale.

The things you learn from our customers will help shape how we train the next customer, how Studios creates, and ultimately how OpenArt evolves.

🌍 Work Setup
  • We’re a remote-friendly team.

  • Candidates based in the United States are preferred, particularly for easier collaboration and travel with enterprise clients.

  • Hybrid options are available if you're based near the Bay Area.

  • This role may require travel for client training, workshops, events, and other OpenArt initiatives.

  • Visa sponsorship is available.

We’d love to see:

  • Examples of your strongest AI-generated image, video, storytelling, commercial, or creative projects.

  • Examples that demonstrate your professional creative background and visual taste.

  • Any tutorials, workshops, presentations, educational content, or on-camera work you've created.

✨ Don’t worry if you haven’t put together formal portfolio, links and clips are totally fine. We care most about your eye, creativity, and excitement for what’s next. We’re excited to talk and see what you’ve made!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
