Job Description  
 
This role serves as a key liaison between Sales and Finance, partnering across teams to support real estate lending activity through financial modeling, pipeline management, and deal-level analytics. The position collaborates with Loan Officers, Credit, Data, and Technology teams to build and maintain models and tools that provide clear insight into pricing, structure, cash flows, and profitability. By maintaining a forward-looking pipeline of modeled deals, the role helps refine terms, improve conversion, and support informed decision-making ahead of Preflight and Credit Committee. The role also works cross-functionally to enhance reporting, automation, and platform capabilities that improve transparency and execution. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Credit to build and maintain financial models supporting loan pricing and structuring 
  • Maintain a forward-looking pipeline of modeled deals, providing visibility into ROE, cash flows, leverage, and key risk drivers 
  • Act as a bridge between Sales and Finance, translating deal complexity into clear economics and actionable feedback 
  • Analyze pipeline and portfolio trends to recommend pricing, structural, and process improvements 
  • Partner with Data and Technology teams to collaboratively build reporting, dashboards, and automation supporting the lending platform 
  • The setup and ongoing maintenance of sold loan structures including key attributes for IO strip components, ensuring accurate and consistent representation in PowerBI. 
  • Model complex loan transactions across a variety of client business lines while distilling the complexity into simple, user-friendly tools / reporting that foster clear and transparent client communications, including indicative terms and LOI disclosures 
  • Analyze and provide deep insights into rate and fee structures, revenue recognition, forward cash flows / construction draw activity, leverage, loan duration, cost structures, and other components that drive ROE and ROA 
  • Create tracking of the loan (and Sponsor) profitability (ROE and ROA) post loan payoff and compare to initial ROE and ROA expectations. 
  • Assist in preparing investor and executive-level presentations, highlighting loan performance trends and market opportunities 
  • Support onboarding and cross-departmental training efforts and materials 
  • Recommend automation and process improvements where applicable 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or related field 
  • 0–2 years of experience; internship or coursework in real estate finance or credit analysis a plus 
  • Strong Excel skills; comfort with formulas, sensitivity tables, and structured model inputs 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skills 
  • Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable asking questions and taking direction 
  • Exposure to PowerBI or similar reporting tools a plus, not required 

The Pay

Pay range is $85,000 - 100,000 with a discretionary bonus of 15% per year

The Work Environment

  • This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home).
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.
  • Some nights and weekends required.
