About the role
The Financial Operations (”FinOps”) Lead will be a key leadership position responsible for building and optimizing our operational processes to support Hex’s growth. This role will drive critical initiatives across our quote-to-cash lifecycle, help refine our billing and revenue recognition systems, and create scalable workflows. Partnering closely with Finance, Sales, and Operations, this leader will enhance our operational efficiency, support revenue growth, and ensure compliance—all while being instrumental in developing the infrastructure that enables Hex to scale effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to impact our financial strategy and shape core financial operations as we expand our customer base.
What you’ll do
- Optimize Quote-to-Cash Process: Streamline and manage the quote-to-cash cycle, focusing on reducing time-to-invoice, streamlining deal flow and accelerating cash collection with minimal revenue leakage.
- Implement CRM and Deal Desk Integration: Establish deal desk functionality to standardize contract execution and integrate our CRM and financial systems.
- Develop Pricing and Billing Systems: Thought partner to design and deploy flexible pricing models, with an optimized billing system that supports multi-year contracts, usage-based pricing, and hybrid models.
- Build internal processes and tooling. Improve accuracy, reduce manual effort/redundancy and enable faster decision-making.
- Ensure Revenue Recognition Compliance: Collaborate with accounting to implement ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition processes, ensuring our revenue reporting remains audit-ready.
What you’ll bring
- Financial & Operational Systems Expertise: Experienced with CRM, ERP, and billing platforms.
- Process Design & Automation: Skilled at identifying bottlenecks and designing scalable, automated workflows for sales, billing, and finance operations.
- Track record of system design and automation
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Data-Driven Mindset: Analytical, with experience in setting metrics and making data-informed decisions to improve financial operations.
- Pricing Strategy Experience: Proficient in creating dynamic pricing models to support SaaS growth objectives.
- SaaS Revenue Recognition Knowledge: Familiar with ASC 606 standards, especially as they apply to multi-year and seat/usage/hybrid contracts.
Location
- Hybrid with at least T/TH in SF office, and likely one other day most weeks (Wed)

The salary band for this role is: $190,000 - $230,000
The salary range shown may be a reflection of additional factors such as geographical location and skill ranges/levels we’re open to. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process, taking into account factors like leaving room for growth, internal fairness & parity, your demonstrated skills, and the depth of your experience.
