The position will be based in Oakland and will play an integral role in underwriting, valuation, market research, and transaction execution.

  • Review and analyze rent rolls, leases, operating statements, budgets, and property-level financial information to identify key assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Perform valuation analysis and research industrial leasing and investment sales comparables, tenant activity, vacancy, absorption, and new supply.
  • Prepare financial analysis and supporting materials for broker opinions of value, pitches, offering memoranda, and investment sales assignments.
  • Analyze property characteristics and market factors affecting tenant demand, investment positioning, and value.
  • Assist with due diligence and other transaction-related analysis throughout the investment sales process.
  • Support transaction execution, including property tours, buyer inquiries, offer tracking, due diligence materials, and closing requirements.
  • Maintain property, investor, and transaction data used for marketing, business development, valuation, and client presentations.
  • Work closely with senior brokers to evaluate pricing, offers, buyer feedback, and market conditions.
  • Participate in team discussions regarding active assignments, prospective business, transaction status, and market activity.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–6 years of experience in commercial real estate underwriting, financial analysis, investment sales, or a related field; industrial real estate experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with Argus Enterprise.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate valuation, lease structures, cash flow analysis, and investment return metrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with brokers and other team members.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
