The FP&A team at Zoox drives financial analysis of key strategic investments, maintains short and long term financial models, and develops reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.

As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting Marketing and Commercial, you will partner with key stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial Market Management, Product, Data Science, and Accounting. Together you will manage planning, forecasting, and performance reporting for Zoox’s marketing and customer promotions investments. You will own the financial models that connect campaigns, discounts, and rider incentives to rider growth, gross bookings, and profitability as Zoox launches its Robotaxi service in new markets.

This will require a deep understanding of Zoox’s rider funnel and ridehail economics. It will also require strong working relationships with leaders and individual contributors across multiple departments, and the use of enterprise systems and tools to build robust financial models and dashboards. The goal for this role is to ensure every marketing and promotional dollar is invested with discipline, through timely and actionable financial insights.

In this role you will:

    • Own and maintain long-range, annual, and monthly forecasts for marketing and customer promotions spend, and manage close activities for your business partners, including accruals and variance analysis.

    • Partner with Marketing teams to develop driver-based models and ROI frameworks that measure the return on marketing and promotions across rider acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention (e.g., CAC, LTV, payback, incrementality).

    • Partner with Central Market Management and Data Science to size, monitor, and read out pricing and promotional experiments, and translate the results into gross bookings, contribution margin, and P&L impact.

    • Integrate rider funnel and promotion drivers into Zoox’s revenue and city-level models to inform market launch plans and spend allocation across geographies and channels.

    • Analyze large datasets from Anaplan, SAP S4, Databricks, and other internal systems to build recurring reporting and dashboards that give Finance and Commercial leadership decision-ready insights.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science, or a quantitative field

  • 6+ years experience in FP&A, marketing finance, commercial or strategic finance, or a similarly analytical role such as consulting

  • 2+ years of direct experience building driver-based models, ROI or unit-economics analyses (e.g., CAC, LTV, promo efficiency), and dashboards

  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel/Sheets, plus experience with planning and reporting tools (Anaplan, Looker, Tableau, etc.)

  • Experience partnering with non-finance teams such as Marketing, Growth, or Product and presenting recommendations to senior leadership

Bonus Qualifications

    • Experience supporting marketing, promotions, or rider incentives in the TNC, transportation, marketplace, or other mobility industries

    • Familiarity with marketing measurement methods such as A/B testing, incrementality testing, or marketing mix modeling

    • Experience with data visualization tools (eg. Looker, Tableau) and/or advanced analytics tooling (eg. Python, R, Databricks).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
