SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on financial data, financial projections, and results of analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  2. Reconciles and validates data between various sources as required
  3. Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts. 
  4. Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management. 
  5. Prepares financial reporting for the Board of Directors to provide relevant and timely information in support of executive management 
  6. Prepares various financial reports, at the direction of the Quantitative Financial Modeling Manager 
  7. Maintain various databases by entering, verifying, and backing up data. 
  8. Increases productivity by developing and using automated processes and software applications; coordinating information requirements. 
  9. Other duties as assigned.
  10. Provide, present and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or another related field of study; or 0 - 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree desired, but not required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Ability to multi task, work effectively in a high production environment, and respond quickly and productively under pressure, tight timelines, and changing priorities 
  • Team player, who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment 
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges 
  • Ability to use/customize complex financial models, as well as familiarity with financial concepts, practices and procedures 
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Internally motivated and proactive to seek out alternative ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the group through the development of new skills and generation of new ideas. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

This position requires strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions effectively. Requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical literature, and government regulations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and profitability models (SQL; Crystal report writing tools, advanced modeling skills using Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Access) and experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

Salary Range:$26.52 To $36.47 Hourly

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and/or education, and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
