Position Description

Reports to: Emily Hazelroth, Senior Advisor Manager & Advisor Manager

Job Summary

The Senior Financial Advisor (SFA) and Financial Advisor (FA) serve as the primary relationship owners for high-net-worth clients, building, updating, and delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance. S/FAs lead client meetings, develop planning strategies, and coordinate with portfolio management, tax professionals, and estate attorneys to deliver integrated advice.

Advisors maintain a focused client base (typically fewer than 100 households) and manage an established book of client relationships while contributing to organic growth through client referrals, COI relationships, and partnerships with the firm’s Business Development team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advisor and trusted partner to high-net-worth client families (typically $1-5M+ in AUM)
  • Build and update financial plans for independent clients and in support of the Regional Director in Pasadena
  • Deliver comprehensive financial planning across investments, tax, equity compensation, estate planning, and retirement strategies
  • Lead client meetings and oversee preparation and follow-up
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Management team to implement investment strategies aligned with client goals
  • Drive organic growth through client referrals, COI relationships, and partnerships with the Business Development team

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-8 years within the financial services industry with relationship management and business development experience
  • CFP Certified or 7 years of advisory services in a lead-advisor role, with comprehensive financial planning and business development experience and must pass the CFP within 2 years of hire
  • Experience serving high-net-worth clients and delivering comprehensive financial planning
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • Ability to develop new client relationships and partner with COIs
  • Experience with financial planning software (preferably eMoney) and CRM


Compensation

  • Total compensation includes base, bonus, and incentive comp:
    • Base salary: $115-150K (FA) and $150-225K (SFA)
    • Performance-based bonus (on-target at 20% of base, with additional upside for exceeding metrics, up to 30% of base salary)
    • Incentives tied to new assets, referrals, and business development participation (unlimited upside)
