What we are looking for…

A Manager of Real Estate Underwriting who will work alongside our Real Estate and Acquisitions teams in executing and achieving our real estate supply growth initiatives by performing in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses; coordinating asset valuations and supporting transactions from inception to close. This person is a total modeling rock star with deep knowledge and love for real estate, and the ability to lead and manage an underwriting team.

What you’ll do…

• Lead, organize, and direct all aspects of the Underwriting function for the organization
• Analyze new acquisitions / development opportunities and prepare financial analysis on the viability of each transaction, incorporating a variety of capital and financing structures
• Create scalable systems and processes to deliver asset-level forecasts to our Real Estate team within 24-48 hours of request
• Continually improve upon our forecasting framework by incorporating forward-looking market data and historical performance of similar properties within our portfolio and updating functionality for changes in our go-to-market approach
• Work alongside our Data team to develop more sophisticated forecasting methodologies aimed at enhancing accuracy and increasing speed
• Assist in analyzing new market entry strategies
• Perform acquisition due diligence including the review of leases, financial conditions, historical property operating results, financial assumptions and other information.
• Prepare internal and external presentation materials and documents (e.g., pitch materials, pro-formas, LOI’s)
• Hire, train, mentor and develop the Underwriting team

What you’ll bring…

• 3+ years in Real Estate evaluation or related fields
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance, Real Estate)
• Deep knowledge of real estate valuation and financial modeling, travel trends, hospitality, hotels, tourism and the short-term/ vacation rental market
• Natural talent and energy: a passion for all things real estate, an agility and ability to adapt to changing and ambiguous situations, and a general hunger for more.
• Excellence: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of assets using financial modelling techniques.
• Communication and trust: Excellent communication and people skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth company. Proven ability to build strong working relationships with business partners and are seen as a trusted advisor.
