About the Role
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Staff Accountant will use their education and professional experience to perform various routine and non-routine account and analytical functions within the Finance Department.
What You'll Do
- Preparing and booking journal entries
- Manage accounts payable and act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile any billing discrepancies
- Assistance with vendor and broker management, and commissions
- Maintaining balance sheet accounts, including preparation of monthly reconciliations
- Employee expense monitoring and processing
- Various other tasks related to expense operations Assist with month-end close process
- Preparing and analyzing the monthly cash expenditures
- Support accounting team and ensure backup documentation is properly filed and organized
- Assist with other ad-hoc or project-related responsibilities as needed to support the Finance Department
- Walkthrough and document significant accounting processes and related internal controls in support of the development of accounting policies and procedures
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years experience in an Accounting Role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Strong working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, vlookup)
- Knowledge of US GAAP financial statements and internal controls
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Driven to learn fast, be creative, and win as a team
- Ability to meet hard deadlines
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Masters in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Insurance or healthcare experience a plus
