About the role and about You:
Zwift is looking for a qualified Staff Accountant to provide accounting and finance support in our Long Beach office. You will carry out responsibilities in financial accounting areas such as payroll processing, general ledger and account reconciliations. You are expected to be a quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts and apply accounting knowledge when performing tasks. Prior experience with payroll accounting is required.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure that bi-weekly payroll is processed timely and accurately for both exempt and non-exempt employees for our US entity.
- Review time entry, taxes, deductions, and other payroll related details for accuracy.
- Review payroll tax registration and filing requirements across multiple states and coordinate with third-party payroll provider to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review health insurance bills for accuracy and post to accounting system. Allocate expenses to appropriate department and line of business.
- Ensure that HSA, FSA, and LSA disbursements are recorded timely and accurately.
- Assist with 401(k) plan related matters including the annual 401(k) audit.
- Assist with and prepare various account reconciliations and account analyses.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes and year-end audit.
- Perform such other accounting and financial tasks as may be required from time to time.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with concentration in Accounting.
- 1 - 2 years of general accounting and payroll experience.
- Accounting or finance knowledge, problem solving skills, research and resolution skills.
- Attention to detail with focus on accuracy. Highly organized and thorough.
- Excellent judgement and professional attitude; maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Flexible, willingness to pitch in. Deadline-oriented. Time management.
- Be able to work well in a team, as well as independently.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be proactive and self-motivated.
- Communicate effectively and possess interpersonal skills.
- Strong technology skills using Excel, Google Sheets. Knowledge of ADP, Workday, and Sage Intacct helpful.
