Role Overview
InStride is looking for a Senior Analyst, Partner Finance to join a hard-working Finance team that can scale with our emerging, high-growth company! The ideal candidate should be passionate about supporting our high-quality corporate partners, in partnership with our client success team. This role will provide financial and analytical support to help our customers improve participation, understand performance, accurately fund, supervise and measure impact, and enable the growth and expansion of their strategic enterprise education (SEE) program. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing client forecasts and projections, return on investment analysis, budgeting support, and financial and operational close and reporting processes. This candidate will partner with leaders, team members, and external clients to provide financial/analytical support and to influence key decisions that enable the company to achieve its core mission and maximize enterprise value. This candidate will be a multifaceted individual who can objectively research and analyze sophisticated issues and present recommendations in a clear and simple way to elicit support both internally and externally.
This position will report to the Manager, Partner Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customer success in providing client account projections, ROI analysis, and other analytical support required to sustain and grow Corporate Partnerships
- Assist in updating the long-range financial forecast model and partner with other teams across the organization to ensure that the modeling assumptions are reasonable and current
- Build slides for external clients, executives, the board of directors, or other key partners
- Assist in the creation, consolidation, and distribution of monthly reports and critical KPIs for key partners
- Build and manage relationships across your assigned clients and be the POC for analytical support for those assigned clients
- Help support the InStride annual budgeting process areas as the need arises
- Provide decision support (return on investment, NPV, benchmarking, etc.) to clients as required to help support program development and expansion
- Identify client trends and offer solutions to mitigate negative trends and (or) accelerate positive ones
- Help research, select, implement, and refine processes and systems to optimize the efficiency and performance of the partner finance team
- Support the monthly financial close process and the annual financial audit as required
- Develop an understanding of the markets, customers, and products in order to provide more substantial financial and analytical support to your assigned clients
- Perform ad hoc research, analysis, and reporting as required
Ideal Profile
- 4+ years of finance experience, preferably in a high-growth technology company or consulting firm
- Prior experience working for a private-equity backed company
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a similar subject area
- Proven track record of achievement and delivering impactful results
- Strong background in financial analysis with strong problem-solving skills
- Consistent track record to distill issues into simple, structured frameworks that can be clearly communicated to key leaders and partners inside and outside of the company
- Experience leading or supporting client relationships
- A curiosity and aim to thoroughly analyze issues and to come forward with clear recommendations for moving forward
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of InStride and client organizations
- Proven track record in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify and enthusiastically seek problems regardless of the nature of the issue or the work required to get the job done
- Validated knowledge of financial / accounting principles
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-centric organization
- Experience working in key systems to help improve and automate the finance function (ERP, FP&A, Analytics, CRM, etc.)
- Prior experience with NetSuite, Salesforce.com, and/or Tableau is a plus
- Motivated by the challenge of building an outstanding business that delivers not only high revenue growth, but also has a significant impact on society
- Ability to collaborate across teams internally and with corporate clients
