Description

We are seeking a resourceful Senior Accountant who possesses a high degree of initiative and exercises amazing judgment to join the Jukin Media’s fast paced Accounting team. The position will report to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work related to the areas of higher-level accounting complexity (e.g. revenue recognition, cost deferral, intercompany, etc.).
• Review the work of the Staff Accountant.
• Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly close cycle.
• Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze and provide explanations on monthly, quarterly, annual variances within income statement and balance sheet line items.
• Assist in the documentation of internal control and provide recommendations for improvement or automation where necessary.
• Interact and work with business units to determine proper accounting treatment for various transactions.
• Partner with the IT organization to design technological solutions to enhance the department’s automation capabilities.
• Work with external auditors and support financial statement, tax and other audits, as necessary.
• Liaise with international subsidiaries’ accounting teams.
• Assist with ad hoc reports and requests from the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar is required.
• CPA in progress or an active CPA license is highly preferred.
• 3-5+ years of Accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience is highly preferred.
• A high level of proficiency with US GAAP Accounting Principles and an ability to understand the GAAP principles of other locales.
• A strong attention to detail, balanced with the ability to manage for the big picture is required.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate across the organization is required.
• Responsiveness and organization are required.
• A self-starter mentality that will thrive in what will initially be a remote/work-from-home set-up is required.
• A proactive approach and a desire to improve the current state is required.
• The ability to work independently and solicit assistance on an as-needed basis is required.
• A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
• QuickBooks experience a “plus”.
• Salesforce experience a “plus”.
• A high level of professionalism is required.
