How you will impact the organization
We are seeking a high-performing, innovative and results-oriented person to join the team. Our expanding accounting team operates from our Global HQ in Downtown Los Angeles (currently working remotely). This is a key position not only in the accounting department but in the operations of the Company as well. As a Senior Accountant, you will participate in all activities related to full-cycle accounting of the Company.
The value you will deliver
- Perform bank reconciliation within Oracle's Cash Management module tasks throughout the month, and partner with the Senior Accounting Manager to identify and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
- Assist the team in retrieving documents, including but not limited to, bank statements, payment processing merchant account statements and business intelligence (BI) reports
- Prepare journal entries related to revenue, billings and accruals using adequate supporting documentation.
- Participate in system implementation projects
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to, bank and intercompany accounts.
- Prepare variance analysis
- Prepare audit related requests for both internal and external auditors
- Maintain proper process documentation in accordance with SOX
- Partner with cross functional teams such as FP&A, Tax, Financial Operations, Internal Audit, and Legal, to address operational challenges due to business growth and drive process improvements
What you will bring to the table
- 4+ years strong GL month-end close experience and GL process flow experience required
- Strong G/L analysis and understanding of GAAP accounting principles required
- Drive process improvement and own projects such as automating manual workflows, risk analysis and SOX controls
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently while contributing to overall department objectives
- Must have excellent MS Excel skills and experience building complex spreadsheets
- Good business acumen and an ability to work across boundaries and cultures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal are essential to this position
You will stand out if you also have
- Public Accounting experience/US technical accounting experience desired
- 2+ years experience in a Software or Software as a Services (SaaS) company desired
- 3+ years ERP systems experience required, Oracle Fusion Cloud is a plus
