THE ROLE

The Senior Manager of FP&A role is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing team that is helping the company make informed decisions. As one of the first members of the team, you will have a chance to make a direct impact on all aspects of the business, from pricing to resource allocation. Reporting to the CFO, the successful person in this role will create partnerships across the organization and provide meaningful insights. 

Given the stage of Outer and the ever-evolving business strategy and needs of the company, this role will change over time. New and exciting opportunities arise every day and we are looking for candidates who will embrace and be motivated by that flexibility.

This person will be expected to work out of our Santa Monica, CA office when it re-opens.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Oversee and manage the continued development of budgeting, forecasting, operating plan and modeling tools
• Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, capital expenditures and headcount
• Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
• Closing Monthly Books and Financial Model with External Accountant 
• Play the lead role in the selection and implementation of the Company’s ERP and integration with IMS software
• Tracking Inventory, Working Capital, and Payment Terms Optimization
• Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
• Help drive scale initiatives and cross-functional accountability across the company.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 5-10 Years of experience in the finance function with responsibilities in forecasting, analysis, and reporting, ideally in a technology, SaaS, or DTC Ecommerce company
• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Mathematics
• Substantial hands-on experience with ERP and reporting systems

SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS, AND ABILITIES

• Desire and ability to thrive in high-growth, entrepreneurial culture that requires teamwork and significant interaction and collaboration with employees at all levels
• Proven hands-on leadership, not just managerial experience
• You must be willing/able to get things done without the help of a large staff
• Data and metrics-driven mindset with experience analyzing markets and trends, anticipating and identifying opportunities, and developing insight at a strategic level
• An exceptional ability to identify and break down problems to find unique solutions, remove single points of failure, and set a plan into action
• Strong project management and organizational skills including the ability to coordinate FP&A activities across multiple regions, products, and functions problems to find unique solutions, remove single points of failure, and set a plan into action
