Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accounting is in accordance with GAAP, as well as accurate and timely.
• Produce and present financial statements and other key reporting and flag potential risk areas to senior management.
• Oversight of daily operations of the Accounting Department and streamline and enhance processes to improve efficiencies.
• Mentor and develop a team of accountants; hire and train new talent as necessary.
• Implement internal Controls to mitigate the risk of misstatement or fraud.
• Safeguard company assets including tracking and insurance for inventory and fixed assets.
• Inventory Management including: strong processes, assistance with the transition to a new 3PL, and working with partners and reporting to resolve issues.
• Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.
• Point person working in coordination with the 3rd party Tax Accountants covering state sales and use taxes, year end tax returns and other required filings / registrations. 
• Point person and preparation of documents for periodic audits or due diligence reviews.
• Create budgets and work with other Team Leads to ensure adherence.
• Assist with Forecasting, Planning and Analysis, and treasury management, as necessary.

Requirements

• CPA Required.
• 5+ years experience in a senior level leadership role at a fast paced, venture backed startup.
• Experience managing inventory, logistics and supply chain operations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience in supporting audits, due diligence processes and physical inventory counts.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
• People leadership and/or management of teams.
• High personal integrity and strong work ethic
