We are currently looking for an experienced, highly-motivated Controller to manage our accounting and monthly financial reporting. As Controller, you will work closely with the VP Finance to provide timely, accurate financial reports as well as track our performance against operating budgets. The Finance team at Tradesy is a tight-knit, highly motivated group with a do-whatever-it-takes philosophy. You'll also work closely with Executives, Department Heads and Product Managers to provide financial support on key strategic decisions as well as track our performance. We are looking for a self-starter, who is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and who has a passion for numbers and a desire to create useful reporting tools to support our growth. 

You Will:

• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal decision making and for external partners (investors, auditors, banks, etc.)
• Compare performance with operating plans and reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger (accurately recording all appropriate financial transactions and events)
• Implement effective internal controls, including appropriate expense authorizations, separation of duties, and safeguarding physical inventory 
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and guidelines for financial and tax reporting. 
• Oversee Sales tax compliance for e-commerce marketplace. 
• Provides other managers and departments with information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities.
• Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and assuring proper insurance coverage.
• Head up the internal team for Independent audit.  Including audit preparation, process documentation, liaison and response. 
• Be responsible for all aspects of Accounting functions for the company. 

You Have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting.  MBA preferred; CPA required
• 5+ years of accounting experience in ecommerce or online marketplace business
• A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Fluency in all aspects of a P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
• Expert Excel skills.  The ability to build clear, easy to use financial and accounting schedules
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely financial analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High competency in Microsoft Office suite as well as Quickbooks (or other accounting software programs)
• The Ability to pivot and be flexible while still maintaining integrity of data/processes. Thrive in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

Pluses:

• Experience with integration of ERP accounting software
• Experience with Economic Nexus/ Multi State Sales Tax
