Role Overview
InStride is seeking an experienced Billing Analyst who can elevate the team by finding solutions and implementing processes that support strategic billing opportunities. The Billing Analyst will assist with the implementation and execution of billing processes, systems, policies, and procedures to bring maximum value to InStride and its partners. This position requires acute accounting knowledge and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, fun and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the completion, accuracy, and timeliness of complex day-to-day billing operations including invoice creation, delivery, and collection
- Analyze contracts and billing information to ensure understanding of requirements and proper billing procedures and execution
- Prepare revenue and cost entries in compliance with accounting policies and US GAAP
- Ensure timely month-end closing of billing and AR
- Provide input and recommendations to improve existing billing processes, systems, training needs, and resources
- Maintain alignment with AR policies and procedures
- Assist in billing presentations and discussions with partners
- Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams on billing-related issues, workflows, automation and scaling initiatives, etc.
- Support the closing of new and expansion sales opportunities as required
- Assist with annual audit and tax engagements as required
- Complete special requests and ad-hoc projects as required
Ideal Profile
- 2+ years prior work experience in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Understanding of current US GAAP standards, including ASC 606
- Previous billing and AR experience
- Demonstrated history of building out and implementing billing automation and scaling projects
- A track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams on complex processes
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERPs
- Able to effectively prioritize goals and perform in a fast and dynamic environment
- Able to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Adaptable and comfortable in a growing and flexible company
- Conscientious attention to detail and critical thinking
- Possesses solid Excel skills and comfortable working with complicated billing models
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability

- High EQ, comfort with ambiguity and a “no job too small” startup mentality
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Our base compensation amount for this role is targeted at $61,000 - $86,000/yr. All roles include a variable annual bonus amount. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
