Accounts Payable Specialist

As an Accounts Payable Specialist on the Finance team you will support the day to day accounts payable function, investigate customer chargebacks, assist with cash management, and assist with other special projects to support the finance team. This position will report to the Controller and will also work closely with the Sr. and Staff Accountant. What You’ll Do
- Route vendor invoices through the approval workflow
- Process and code invoices in the accounting system
- Work closely with the Supply Chain and Inventory teams to process inventory purchases (three-way match)
- Perform new vendor on-boarding and setup new vendors in accounting system
- Maintain vendor contracts, invoices, and other files
- Prepare weekly and monthly accounts payable aging reports
- Maintain friendly and professional communication with vendors relating to invoice discrepancies and/or payment inquiries
- Prepare weekly ACH batch payment file and checks for CFO review
- Prepare ad hoc wire and other payments as needed
- Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations
- Investigate and submit support for customer chargeback cases, which includes the investigation of customer orders and charges
- Assist with yearly compliance reporting and requests, including, 1099-MISC reporting, tax reporting, audit support, etc.
- Assist with month end close
- Other duties and projects to support the Finance team
Who You Are
- 1-2+ years of accounts payable and/or general accounting experience
- BA/BS degree in accounting/business or related field
- Well organized, detailed oriented, open to change and willing to learn new skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A self-starter and team player, you work well independently and know how to prioritize tasks, you also work well in a team setting
- Basic knowledge of the accounts payable process, general ledger systems, and chart of accounts
- Experience with Microsoft Office, excel specifically
- Worked in a startup environment, preferred but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, preferred but not required
