Discover Daybreak: Empowering Youth, Changing Lives

Daybreak Health is creating a world where every young person benefits from mental health support. We provide tech-enabled mental health care to kids ages 5–19 and their families. We partner with public school districts to reach the most vulnerable populations and with health insurance companies to cover the cost of care.

We’re a YC-backed company that raised its Seed from Maven Ventures, Series A from Lightspeed Ventures, and Series B from Union Square Ventures. We’re charting a path to profitability by 2026 while continuing to grow our impact—aiming to double both patients served and revenue in the coming year.

About the Role: Finance Manager

We’re looking for a mission-aligned, strategic, and execution-oriented Finance & Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you’ll lead core financial processes, collaborate cross-functionally, and support Daybreak’s mission of reaching over 25 million youth with effective mental health care.

Note: Healthcare or healthtech experience is required—familiarity with financial models involving payers, providers, or government-funded care models is essential.

This is a high-visibility, fully remote role that blends strategic oversight with tactical ownership—perfect for a finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment and is passionate about youth mental health.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage cash flow forecasting, bank covenant compliance, collections, and revenue operations

  • Maintain and evolve the company’s financial model, including scenario planning and integration with headcount/business assumptions

  • Build and manage commission structures, compensation models, and equity forecasting

  • Lead CAC analysis, pipeline tracking, and forecasting in partnership with the Growth team

  • Partner with Product and Strategy to develop dashboards in Mosaic, Looker, and other tools

  • Lead forecast and budget reviews with department leads, surfacing insights, risks, and opportunities

  • Contribute to board decks and investor materials and support fundraising and strategic planning

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • 6+ years of experience in finance, strategy, operations, or business analytics

  • Prior experience in healthcare or healthtech (e.g., working with payers, provider networks, or value-based care models)

  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis skills

  • Experience with CAC, customer funnel metrics, and LTV modeling

  • Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort with financial systems/reporting tools

  • Excellent communicator with proven cross-functional leadership and project management skills

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with Salesforce or CRM systems

  • Familiarity with equity and commission planning

  • Hands-on experience using Mosaic, Looker, or similar BI tools

💸 Compensation
  • Base Salary: $130,000–$150,000 USD

  • Equity

  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Mental Health Days, Unlimited PTO (3-week minimum enforced), Parental Leave

  • Final compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and internal equity

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
