Wand makes gaming magical. Through game customization and guidance, we build tools that helps players have more fun in their favorite games.
Our platform works across thousands of PC games, ensuring that great games are accessible to everyone, regardless of time constraints, skill level, or accessibility needs. We want to build the future of game assistance, and we're hoping you'll join us.
THE ROLEYou’ll be our first dedicated Finance Manager, owning the finance function end-to-end and building it into something that scales. You’ll inherit a clean foundation: profitable recurring revenue, an outsourced bookkeeping relationship, a banking partner, and a global subscriber base collecting in multiple currencies. What we don’t have yet is the rigor, forecasting, and process architecture a growing company needs.
You’ll report to the COO and serve as the company’s financial conscience. Not a scorekeeper but a thought partner. You’ll ask the uncomfortable question: Are we pricing this right? Should we renegotiate that contract? Do we understand what’s driving margin compression this quarter? And you’ll answer them.
WHAT YOU’LL OWNFinance OperationsManage our outsourced bookkeeping relationship and drive a clean, on-time month-end close
Approve vendor and contractor payments with appropriate judgment and controls
Quarterback our annual audit from kickoff to sign-off
Manage our banking and credit facility relationships: cash positioning, covenant compliance, and draw decisions
Administer our cap table and equity program, including option grants and exercises
Own multi-jurisdiction sales tax and VAT compliance across 20+ US states and international markets; managing external advisors, filings, and registrations
Coordinate with external tax advisors on federal and state income tax, transfer pricing, and ongoing structuring questions
Monitor FX exposure from multi-currency revenue collection into a single USD account and flag hedging opportunities as they arise
Own and maintain our quarterly growth model-revenue, margins, headcount, cash flow
Deliver clear, decision-ready financial analysis to the COO and leadership team
Track the metrics that actually matter for a subscription software business: NRR, gross margin, CAC payback, and cohort economics
Prepare investor and board-level financial reporting-clear, concise, and on schedule
Build the finance processes we’ll need at 100 people before we get there-approval workflows, procurement, controls, and reporting cadences
Proactively surface contracts and vendor relationships worth renegotiating
Integrate AI into finance workflows from day one-this isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s how we expect you to work
You ask questions before you build models. You want to understand the business, not just report on it.
You translate numbers into decisions, not decks. If the analysis doesn’t change behavior, you didn’t finish.
You’re energized by AI and automation-you’re already experimenting with tools that make you faster and smarter. Maybe you’ve been learning python on the side but haven’t been in a place to take advantage of it.
You see ambiguity as opportunity. You’d rather build the right process from scratch than inherit a mediocre one.
You have enough confidence to push back and enough humility to be wrong.
We’re not looking for a specific pedigree. We are looking for someone who has been in high-intensity financial environments and knows what “good” looks like. That usually means:
5–8 years of experience with roots in investment banking, Big 4, or a top-tier FP&A program-and real time owning things in an operating company
Experience with subscription revenue models and the SaaS metrics that come with them
You’ve managed or meaningfully contributed to an external audit process
You can build a 3-statement model in your sleep and a cash flow forecast from a blank page
Familiarity with indirect tax (sales tax, VAT) and multi-currency revenue environments. You don’t need to be a tax specialist, but you shouldn’t be starting from zero
Bonus: You’ve worked at a company with 20–100 people and know what it feels like when the systems aren’t built yet.
$150,000 – $180,000 base salary
Equity participation
Fully remote, US-based
Medical, dental, and vision coverage
