What We Need:

Synapse Health is looking for a sharp, strategic, and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our high-performing finance team. In this role, you won’t just crunch numbers — you’ll transform data into insights that shape the future of our business. You’ll be at the heart of key financial initiatives, from building sophisticated models to uncovering trends in utilization and pricing. If you’re passionate about solving problems, thrive in a collaborative environment, and love turning complexity into clarity, we’d love to meet you.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, build, and continuously refine comprehensive financial models that forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability. These models will support scenario planning, growth strategy, and executive decision-making.
  • Lead the full reconciliation lifecycle of order data across systems to ensure data integrity, reduce leakage, and support accurate billing and revenue recognition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to refine pricing models, conduct competitive and market analyses, and evaluate the financial impact of pricing changes on business performance.
  • Take full ownership of the fee schedule lifecycle — maintaining, updating, and aligning it with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement environments.
  • Monitor and report on the financial and operational implications of member transitions between products, plans, or platforms. Provide actionable insights to improve experience and reduce churn.
  • Deliver detailed analysis of product and service utilization trends, identifying cost drivers, forecasting future usage, and informing strategic initiatives to optimize care delivery and resource allocation.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to identify anomalies, trends, and patterns that may indicate fraud, waste, or abuse. Use data-driven insights to support proactive risk mitigation strategies.

What You Have:

At Synapse Health we’ve intentionally built a culture of kindness, collaboration and creativity, and we consider those qualities to be table stakes for any new team member. Additional requirements include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus).
  • 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or data-driven financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and fluency in financial modeling; experience with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools is highly desirable.
  • A sharp analytical mindset and the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — you're comfortable translating financial concepts for non-financial audiences.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or membership-based business models.
  • Background in pricing strategy, financial modeling for services, or managing fee schedules.
  • Familiarity with fraud detection analytics or utilization analysis within a regulated or healthcare environment.

What Sets Us Apart:

  • Professional growth opportunities with compelling career paths
  • Healthy work-life balance culture with paid time off (PTO)
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance for full-time team members
  • 401K savings plan with employer contribution match

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
