Summary

Bridge Defense seeks a detail-oriented Finance Manager to support the company’s accounting, invoicing, financial reporting, and contract administration functions. The Finance Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing customer invoicing, supporting budgeting efforts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government contract requirements. This position will work closely with executive leadership and external financial partners to support the organization’s continued growth and operational success.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage customer invoicing and contract billing activities to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate collection activities to support cash flow objectives.
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist with payroll review, reporting, and coordination with Human Resources and payroll providers.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring contract funding, labor utilization, and project financial performance.
  • Support budget preparation, forecasting activities, and expense tracking.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Support external audits, financial reviews, and government contract compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with program managers and leadership to track project expenditures and financial performance.
  • Assist with financial due diligence, data collection, and integration activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, and corporate growth initiatives.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and financial visibility.

 Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Experience supporting federal government contractors.
  • Experience with Unanet, QuickBooks, Deltek or similar accounting systems.
  • Familiarity with government contract invoicing and project accounting.
  • Experience supporting financial reviews, audits, or acquisition integrations.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

Desired Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience supporting SCA contracts.
  • Three (3) years of experience supporting federal government contracting environments.
  • Knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures.
  • Experience supporting small to mid-sized federal government contractors.
  • Experience managing audits, incurred cost submissions, and financial compliance initiatives.
  • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

 General Factors

  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, audits, or acquisition-related activities.
  • Hours beyond a 40-hour work week may occasionally be required during month-end closing, audit periods, or acquisition activities.

Location

This is a remote position. Candidates located within the Eastern Time Zone are strongly preferred to support collaboration with company leadership, finance partners, and operational teams.


Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience, education, certifications, government contracting expertise, and overall qualifications.
